So the snow is here, your travel plans back home for the holidays may well be ruined, and you’re faced with a rather empty calendar. Fear not, for tonight, Gramaphone on Commercial Street in Spitalfields will see the final night this year from Sub:side, a new drum and bass night showcasing the best DJ talent around.

The line up this Wednesday will see a headline set from one of the breakthrough names of this year, Critical Music boss Kasra. In recent times Critical Music have released some of the most forward-thinking and purely musical minimal drum & bass beats, with a string of releases from artists such as Lenzman, Break and Cyantific as well as a magnificent album from Sabre.

Also on the bill will be Anile, Stray and a b2b set from Script and Alexander. Anile is another man who is fast earning a reputation for himself – his heavy live sets have pushed him right to the fore of the scene. Meanwhile Stray is a name that is becoming synonymous with intelligent and sonically groundbreaking productions which can only be described as pioneering, even to those outside drum & bass. Script has been releasing his heavy dancefloor-ready beats on Total Science’s label C.I.A. He’s joined for a very special back to back set by Organic Beats head honcho Alexander.

Sub:side has already featured  some of the best rated and well-known names on the scene, including S.P.Y., Rockwell, Judda and Need For Mirrors. As always, the night will be warmed up by resident DJ In:Vision.

Tickets  are just £3 in advance from here , or £5 on the door.
