How does one introduce Carl Craig? He’s a producer and  DJ, primarily of techno but regularly crossing over into other genres, always to great acclaim (jazz – Bug in the Bass Bin, classical – Recomposed). He’s the spearhead of the so-called “Second Wave” of Detroit techno, having received the mentorship of techno godfather Derrick May. He’s recorded seminal pieces of work as Innerzone Orchestra, Paperclip People and 69, remixed the likes of LCD Soundsystem, DJ Hell and Junior Boys , the latter earning him a Grammy nomination.  He’s the main man behind Planet E, a label that has released recordings by Moodymann and Kevin Saunderson, and this year celebrates its 20th anniversary. He is, in short, the most influential man in electronic music today.

To mark Planet E’s birthday Craig is hosting a huge warehouse shindig and has invited along none other than François K to help with the proceedings. Along with Frankie Knuckles, François K is regarded as one of the forefathers of house, having plied his trade at Paradise Garage during the early days of the genre. Paul Woolford and Radio Slave will also be in attendance on March 5th – save the date, as this is going to be one of the best nights out of 2011.
