PUTTY HILL THEATRICAL TRAILER from Matt Porterfield on Vimeo.

Matt Porterfield‘s local masterpiece Putty Hill is coming to the Charles next friday. And Celebration’s launch party is on Saturday! Both events are meeting at the Ottobar for a colossal afterparty at the Ottobar.

“Straddling an indefinite line between fiction and documentary, Matt Porterfield’s film begins with the (fictional) idea that James’ brother, 24-year-old Cory, is dead of a drug overdose. As Cory’s friends and family gather in Baltimore for the funeral, the filmmaker—playing that off-screen interviewer—observes and occasionally queries them, his affect flat but also edgily intrusive, even as they respond with what seems a mix of openness and self-performance.”-Pop Matters.

On Saturday night at the 2640 Space (2640 St Paul Street) CELEBRATION
FUTURE ISLANDS and ARBOURETUM are part of Friend’s Records’ release of Celebration’s Hello Paradise: Electric Tarot LP.

AFTERWARD, head up to the Ottobar where LP release/Putty Hill after party at the Ottobar featuring DJ sets from:
Cullen Stalin (ice age, TaxLo, NO RULE)
William Cashion (Future Islands)
Katrina Ford (Celebration)
It’s free! (21+ though).
