Their recent slot supporting Glasvegas on the first three nights of their EUPHORIC /// HEARTBREAK \\\ tour marked the pinnacle of their promising career so far. Since forming in March 2010, Glasgow band Strawberry Ocean Sea have wowed the underground music scene with their epic sound which harks back to Echo & The Bunnymen and early U2.

Debut demo release ‘Today’s The Day’ alongside ‘Enough Is Never Enough’ gave critics and punters alike a sample of things to come – both Jim Gellatly of Amazing Radio and BBC Radio 1 Scotland’s Ally McCrae have shown tremendous support with significant airplay of the tracks on their radio shows. Rick Fulton of The Daily Record tipped ‘Today’s The Day’ as being “one of the best unsigned Scots songs of the year”.

The band have been working hard to maintain the buzz, playing countless gigs in Glasgow and Edinburgh including a sold-out headline slot at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, as part of the venue’s New Years’ Revolution series of gigs.

Saturday 4th June will see the band launch their double A-side ‘Down By The River’ with an exclusive gig at The Arches and an afterparty at Sauchiehall Street’s Firewater. The single will be available from iTunes as a digital download, and the gig at The Arches marks part one of a two-part launch – with the second instalment planned for the end of the summer, followed by an as yet to be confirmed tour.
