London-based band Scoundrels release single ‘Gulf Of Mexico’ today, taken from their forthcoming self-titled debut album, scheduled for release on Monday 27th of June.

Scoundrels are the first band signed to re-launched blues label Blue Horizon. ‘Gulf Of Mexico’ is the closing track on the album, but it proved so popular with the record label that it was unanimously decided it should be the first single. Recorded in the band’s own studio in London and mixed by Richard Gottehrer and Alonzo Vargas at The Orchard Studios in New York, the track presents a mellow, almost dreamlike side to Scoundrels, in stark comparison to the more rousing, riotous tracks featured on the album, such as ‘Loud N Proud’ and ‘Porno’. Clever use of the mandolin gives it an exotic flavour and makes this an impossible song not to melt right into.

Scoundrels have recently announced a series of live UK tour dates for later this year, as well as confirmed slots at Larmer Tree Festival and 2000 Trees Festival next month.
