Glasgow ensemble Remember Remember have confirmed that they are set to return with a brand new album, The Quickening, in September.

The seven-piece outfit have been praised for their psychedelic, colourful yet dark sound as well as their ambitious live performances. The Quickening is the follow-up to their critically acclaimed, self-titled debut which was released in 2008, and was recorded in early 2011 at Chem19 Studios. The band have recently taken up residence in the playroom of a disused primary school in the South Side of Glasgow, perhaps partly responsible for the uniquely playful sound on the forthcoming album.

Despite an already lively line-up, Remember Remember have enlisted the help of additional musicians on violin, cello and viola for a dramatic twist to their sound, including RM Hubbert on Spanish guitar, a well-known and much-loved musician on the Glasgow live circuit.

The band are scheduled to perform a series of live gigs to coincide with the release, including an exclusive album launch at Stereo – a buzzing gig venue in Renfield Lane in Glasgow City Centre, on 24th September.

The Quickening is out on September 26th on Rock Action Records.
