Glasgow boasts a whole host of gig venues of all shapes and sizes, catering to the most eclectic of tastes with a huge array of unsigned and undiscovered talent. One such performer is Scottish songstress Fiona McKirdy, a regular of Bath Street’s Slouch Bar and punter-favourite Maggie May’s.

At only 17, Fiona discovered her talent for singing while studying Standard Grade Music at school. She entered a school talent show, blowing friends and family away with her best-kept secret – her voice. She cites her granddad as the ignitor of her passion for music, and takes inspiration from fellow female musicians like Debbie Harry, Florence Welch and Ellie Goulding, who inspired her to chase her dream after watching them perform live.

Fiona’s acoustic sets boast her individual interpretation of familiar tracks, and she is currently working with producers on moulding her own sound – check her out here.
