My fantasy headliners would have to be three of my favourite bands, Rise To Remain, Trivium and Machine Head.

Rise To Remain are a British Metal Core band from London. I first saw them supporting Trivium in 2008 and since then I have followed their progress from that early stage to the release of their debut album “City of Vultures”.They are a fantastic band to see live with Ben Tovey’s shredding guitar solos and Austin Dickenson’s amazing vocal range, undoubtedly inherited from his father, Bruce Dickenson of Iron Maiden . A song they would definitely have to include in their slot would be “Bridges Will Burn” as it is an ideal song for closing a set and showcases all the bands talents as well as being a fan favourite.

I first saw Trivium in 2008 and again in 2011 and they never fail to impress me. The band’s technical guitar riffs and memorable lyrics make them the type of band that you can sing and jump along too. One of the songs I would love to hear them play live again would be “Throes Of Perdition”.

I have seen Machine Head play live three times,  in 2008 and 2011 at the SECC and 2009 at the O2 Academy . They are, without a doubt, one of the best  live metal bands around. Guitarist/Singer, Rob Flynn has complete control of the crowd from the moment he walks onstage and knows exactly how to put on a great show and effortlessly gains the respect of his fans. No matter how many more albums they release, “Halo” will always be the perfect anthem to close their set.

We all have our own fantasy set that we wish we could be part of. Certainly, I have missed out on seeing some great shows due to the tragic deaths of Dimebag Darrell, Ronnie James Dio and Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan but despite that I have still seen a lot of amazing bands play live over a relatively short period of time and maybe in a few years time I’ll have some more fantasy headliners that I’d love to see play live.
