My favourite gig venue is Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh which is on Blair Street; at the heart of the capital city.
I’ve seen a few gigs there from a wide range of genres and the intimate setting of the venue makes it one of the best around.
The best gig I’ve been to at Cabaret Voltaire was when I saw DJ sets by Annie Mac and Simian Mobile Disco in 2005.
I’d been a fan of both for a while before that so to have the chance to see them DJ up close and personal in my hometown was a dream come true!
Cabaret Voltaire has recently been re-opened following a takeover refurbishment and I’ve yet to sample the venue in its new form. I’d love to see Azealia Banks play Cabaret Voltaire as I know the place would be packed to capacity with an amazing atmosphere.
