Glasvegas are set to bring Christmas to their fans a little early this year with a short tour of the UK scheduled for December.

The Glaswegian band are set to play live dates across Scotland and England just weeks before Christmas; kicking off at Manchester’s Academy on 2nd December and stopping off at Newcastle’s O2 Academy 2 (3rd) The Ironworks in Inverness (5th) Aberdeen’s Garage (6th) The Garage on Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street (8th) and Fat Sam’s in Dundee (9th) before concluding at The Venue in Dumfries (10th).

Cousins Rab and James Allan formed Glasvegas in 2003 and catapulted to fame in 2008 with the release of their self-titled debut album and singature song, “Geraldine” that pays homage to the trials and tribulations of being a social worker.

2011 saw follow-up “Euphoric Heartbreak” released and despite critical acclaim and positive reviews, disappointing sales meant that Glasvegas were dropped by their record label, Colombia Records just six weeks after the album was released. However, the band extensively toured the album throughout the summer of 2011 and played a stellar stine at Rockness in June of that year dissolving all talk that they were breaking up.

2012 saw Glasvegas showcase material from their forthcoming third album in Sweden and play sold-out gigs in Liverpool, London and Glasgow.

This upcoming December tour will see the band take a break from recording session and no-one is looking forward to it more than frontman, James Allan, “We’ve been working hard in the studio all summer long so we are really excited to get out in the fresh air, meet people, play some new songs and visit the places we’ve been away from for too long. Oh, and rock your balls off!”

Tickets for Glasevgas’ December UK Tour are available on pre-sale today but go on general release this Friday (5th October 2012) at 10am.
