The Killers have announced their biggest gig to date; a stand alone show at London’s Wembley Stadium next June as part of their “Battle Born” world tour.

The Las Vegas-based band announced plans to play Wembley Stadium yesterday with tickets due to go onsale this week.

Fresh from their live performance at The MTV EMAs in Frankfurt on Sunday, the band were forced to pull a gig in Manchester last night after just 4 songs after frontman, Brandon Flower’s sore throat prevented him from continuing the show.

Both the gig last night and their scheduled performance in Manchester tonight have been cancelled with promises of rescheduled dates to be announced very soon.

The decision was met with a mixed reaction from fans who flocked to Facebook; some to vent their disappointment and others to wish Flowers a speedy recovery.

A spokesperson for the band confirmed this morning that their gigs in London this weekend will go ahead as planned.

The band are currently on tour in support of their fourth studio effort, “Battle Born”, released in September 2012.

The Killers will play Wembley Stadium on 22nd June 2013. Tickets are available from 9am on Friday 16th November 2012.
