Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (or OMD as they are more widely known) are set for a busy 2013 with a brand new album and tour in the pipeline.

Formed in 1978, OMD’s electro-pop, synth soaked sound defined the new wave movement and they enjoyed stellar success with hits, “Enola Gay”, “Joan Of Arc” and “If You Leave” among many others.

The band released their 11th studio album, “History Of Modern” in 2010, their first release since 1996. OMD toured the album extensively, returning to the success of their 80s heyday.

OMD are scheduled to hit the road once again in 2013 with a UK Tour throughout the April and May of next year; including Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, Ipswich’s Regent Theatre, City Hall in Sheffield, Manchester’s Academy and The Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow.

Forthcoming studio effort, “English Electric” will be released to coincide with the tour in spring of 2013, hopefully continuing the success of previous album, “History Of Modern”.

Tickets for OMD’s UK Tour are due to go onsale on Friday 14th December at 9am and are priced at £32.50 (£33.50 for London).
