September?! Already?

How’d that happen?!! It’s safe to say that summer is over (if the increased wind and rain didn’t give it away, then the 75% off ALL summer clothes should have helped you tipple).

Fear not! Autumn/Winter isn’t set to be all doom and gloom with an exciting, eclectic schedule of gigs, albums, movies and club nights all coming your way.

Take a peek at what WE recommend this month . . .

“The 1975” The 1975

Following the success of EPs, “Facedown”, “Sex”, “Music For Cars” and “IV”, Manchester-based band, The 1975 release their self-titled debut album this month (2nd September). Already destined to follow in the superstar footsteps of fellow Mancunian musicians, The Smiths, Oasis and The Stone Roses, The 1975 look set to build on an already incredible 2013 with this debut offering and a UK tour, stretching across September and October 2013.

Babyshambles, The Barrowlands

Controversial troubadour, Pete Doherty makes a much-anticipated return to form this month, touring alongside his Babyshambles bandmates. The band release their third studio album, “Sequel To The Prequel” tomorrow (2nd September), their first studio album in 6 years. Babyshambles will be bringing a mixture of both old and new material to venue across the UK this month, including a stint at Glasgow’s famous Barrowlands on Wednesday 4th September 2013. Tickets are still available but limited.

Insidious 2

If you are a lover of movies crammed with jump out of your seat moments then the “Insidious” sequel is definitely for you. The follow-up to the 2011 supernatural horror rejoins The Lambert family; Dad, Josh, Mum, Renai and sons, Dalton and Foster who were terrorised by the unexplained in the original movie. Definitely NOT for the faint-hearted! Released nationwide on Friday 13th September 2013. Watch the trailer hereĀ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBbi4NeebAk

Cassette Store Day

Similarly to Record Store Day, next weekend brings the first EVER celebration of cassettes! In the days before iPods and CDs, cassettes were superior to vinyl and a perfectly acceptable gift for your significant other (love is a mix-tape, people . . .) This Saturday (7th September 2013) will see stores and music fans WORLDWIDE celebrate including our very own LoveMusic, here in Glasgow. For more information, visit www.cassettestoreday.com
