No strangers to Gutter Magazine, Wildflowers are a 4-piece band that formed in April 2012; we brought them to your attention last June when their debut EP, “Wild Among The Flowers” was released, assuring you that they were a band to watch.

Of course, we weren’t wrong.

Since then, the band have supported Brits Critics Choice winner, Tom Odell and the legendary, Robert Plant and are about to embark on their own tour of the UK later this year. Fronted by lead singer and chief songwriter, Siddy Bennett, who is best described as a “punk Dolly Parton”, and backed by her sister, Kit and guitarists, Ben Johnsen and James Ashbury, Wildflowers have been pegged as “the bastard children of Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles”.

Shunning the “Girl Power” ethos of Spice Girls for Alanis Morrisette, Siddy cites her sister as a big influence on her, “My sister was the one who got me into playing guitar and writing songs when I was about 14 and I always went to a lot of festivals when I was little and I love the community feeling that they give. It’s really fun being backstage at a festival and I think that when I write music, I always write with the intention that I want it to go down well at festivals.”

Wildflowers will be bringing their unqiue harmonies to a city near year this Spring, including dates in Brighton, Sheffield, Manchester, London, Liverpool, Cardiff and Glasgow’s Nice ‘N’ Sleazy’s on Thursday 6th March 2014.

Tickets are available now.
