Ouija

Spine-tinging, thriller-horror, Ouija follows five friends, overcome by grief over the death of friend, Debbie. Deciding to try and contact her spirit, the group use a ouija board to attempt to communicate with her. After receiving the message, “Hi friend”, it seems as though the group have managed to reach her. However, the events that unfold make it apparent that contact has been made with a much more malicious entity. A must-see for fans of jump-out-of-your-seat scares!

Citizenfour

Award-winning filmmaker, Laura Poitras directs this maddeningly tense documentary that chronicles Edward Snowden’s crusade to expose The NSA. The film takes place mainly in the Hong Kong hotel room in which government official Snowden disclosed incredibly sensitive information to Poitras and journalist, Glenn Greenwald, and despite rarely moving outside of these walls, Citizenfour is completely gripping, engrossing and fascinating.

Nightcrawler

The directorial debut of Dan Gilroy is crime thriller, Nightcrawler and stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo and Bill Paxton. Gyllenhall shed 20lbs for the role and gives the performance of his career as an ambitious young journalist who stumbles into the cut-throat world of “nightcrawlers” in Los Angeles; freelance crime reporters whose motto is, “if it bleeds, it leads”

EMA’s Movie Classics Weekend @ The GFT

An incredible deal for film lovers comes in the form of The GFT’s Movie Classics Weekend. To celebrate the MTV EMAs Glasgow debut this coming weekend, The GFT has teamed up with Paramount Channel to offer three classic films for free for the first weekend in November. Friday (7th Nov) promises humour with the 1986 cult comedy, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, starring Matthew Broderick. Screening on Saturday (8th Nov) is the film that propelled Tom Cruise into superstardom, Top Gun, while Sunday’s (9th Nov) showing of the Godfather Part II is one that needs no introduction. Tickets are FREE and can be collected from the GFT Box Office on the day of the showing. Tickets are issued on a first come first served basis, so collect tickets early to avoid missing out! Maximum of two tickets per person.

Friday 7th November @ 11pm : Ferris Bueller’s Day Off 

Saturday 8th November @ 2.15pm : Top Gun

Sunday 9th November @ 12.30pm: The Godfather Part II
