Glasgow Gig This Week
Professor Green will be at the O2 ABC in Glasgow this Friday (28th November) night. Steven Manderson’s career launched in 2005 when he took up the stage name, Professor Green. Since then, he has won numerous awards and scored several Top 10 Singles, including collaborations with Lily Allen and Emeli Sande. The British rapper is out on tour in support of his third studio album, “Growing Up In Public”. The Glasgow show will be the first stop in an 11 date tour across the UK.
The Who will be hitting The SSE Hydro on Sunday (30th November) as part of “The Who Hits 50! Tour” which is said to be the last big tour they will ever embark on. With a musical career spanning over a massive 50 years and 11 album under their belts, these old-school rockers certainly know how to entertain a crowd! With the announcement of this tour, it was also revealed that Daltrey and Co are hoping to release another album in the summer of next year.
Australian five-piece, Tonight Alive will also be performing on Sunday alongside The Summer Set in Glasgow’s Garage. Tonight Alive played in the UK earlier this year as a support act and are returning this time with a headline tour. The female-fronted pop punk band’s latest record includes the massive hits “Lonely Girl” and “The Ocean” and it is hoped that 2015 will bring the release of a third full length studio album from the band.
Glasgow’s very own band, Deacon Blue, who formed in 1985, are preparing for not one, but two dates at the Clyde Auditorium next Monday (1st December) and Tuesday (2nd). Their seventh studio album, “A New House” was released in September which was inspired by the Scots band reforming and touring again in 2012. The singles “I’ll Never Fall in Love Again”, “Real Gone Kid”, “The Hipsters” and “A New House” and signature song, “Dignity”, are expected to shape their set next week.
Iconic rock guitarist, Slash will be shredding some tunes next Thursday (4th December) at The SSE Hydro, with back-up from Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators. The former Guns ‘N’ Roses guitarist, responsible for the instantly recognisable “Sweet Child O’ Mine” guitar riff has released three solo albums since going solo in 2008. His latest offering was released in September with Kennedy covering the vocals on the LP. California Breed will be providing support.
Announced This Week
US metal-core band, Of Mice & Men have announced that they will be taking to the stage in Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom next year on 30th March 2015. The quintet, from California, will be out on the road in support of the latest album, “Restoring Force”, released earlier this year.
With fans anticipating the release of new album “F.E.A.R (Face Everything and Rise)” in January 2015, Papa Roach have announced a headline show in Scotland for Saturday 14th March 2015 at Glasgow’s Barrowlands. This is a band who have not been afraid to experiment with their sound as their discography includes songs from rap to punk rock, so there is sure to be a Papa Roach song to cater for a variety of musical tastes.
Female-fronted, American band, In This Moment are coming to Scotland next year as part of their first ever UK tour! The tour takes its name from their latest album “Black Widow” and will see the quintet perform at The Garage in Glasgow on 28th February 2015, kicking off a five day stint across the UK.
