Glasgow Gigs This Week

Old-school Madchester band, Inspiral Carpets are due to take to the stage at 02 ABC this Friday (12th December  2014). The band are in the middle of a UK Tour and are out in support of their latest, self-titled LP, their first studio effort release in 20 years!

Fans of The Runaways, Suzi Quatro and The Donnas are in for a treat this weekend when The Amorettes play King Tuts this Friday (12th December). The spunky, Scottish trio independently released their debut album, “Haulin’ Ass” earlier this year and have caused a stir on the live music scene, thank to their high octane, zesty performances.

Taking Back Sunday will be live at 02 ABC  on Saturday 13th December, with support from Marmozets. The American rock band are out on tour in support of, “Happiness Is”, their 6th studio album which was released in March of this year.

Our very own home-grown talent, We Were Promised Jetpacks are scheduled to rock The QMU this Saturday (13th December). The band released their third studio album, “Unravelling” in October.

The Enemy are set to play two dates at Glasgow’s 02 ABC this coming week; Monday 15th and Wednesday 17th December 2014, with support from The Twang. The band have enjoyed a new lease of life following the release of third studio album, “Streets In The Sky” in May 2012.

Ska/pop legends, Madness will be at The Hydro next week (Thursday 18th December). The band are expected to perform a mixed bag of hits old and new, including “House Of Fun”, “It Must Be Love”, “Baggy Trousers” and material from latest album, “Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da”, released in October 2012.

Announced This Week

Fresh from hosting The MTV EMAs in Glasgow last month, rap diva, Nicki Minaj announced a 17 Date Tour for next year. “The Pinkprint Tour” will include a date at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on Sunday 12th April 2015.

Irish singer/songwriter, Hozier is riding a success wave following the release of his self-titled debut, released in September. Hozier will be on tour next year, including a date at Glasgow’s Barrowlands on Wednesday 27th May 2015.

Fresh from releasing new single, “Love Like This”, Irish band, Kodaline have announced plans to tour next year. The band will be at Glasgow’s Barrowlands on Sunday 15th Febraury 2015.
