Gigs This Week
The SSE Hydro is in for a triple treat this Thursday (11th February) as You Me At Six and American pop-punks, All Time Low have joined forces for an incredible co-headline tour, with support from Cincinnati’s Walk The Moon. Both headliners have undertaken many successful UK tours individually, and with their similar musical styles, fans will be in for a double-dose of rock concert mayhem! “Cavalier Youth” is the latest offering from You Me At Six released last year which saw the band graduate to a more mature musical style. All Time Low are scheduled to release their sixth studio effort, “Future Hearts” in April; lead single, “Something’s Gotta Give” debuted last month. US quartet, Walk The Moon will warm up the crowd a treat with indie-fused tracks, “Anna Sun” and “Tightrope”.
NYC’s Interpol play Glasgow’s Barrowlands this Valentine’s Day. The band are out in support of their latest studio effort, “El Pinto”, which was released in September 2014 and featured the singles, “All The Rage Back Home”, “Everything Is Wrong” and “Anywhere”. Interpol will be supported by Slaves, an eletro-pop duo who are set to release their debut offering, “Are You Satisfied?” in June.
Dublin-born band, Kodaline will be live at Glasgow’s Barrowlands on Sunday (15th February 2015). The band are out on tour following the release of their sophomore album, “Coming Up For Air”, which came out on Monday (9th February). It follows their 2013 debut LP, “In A Perfect World”.
The Kerrang! Tour 2015 rolls into Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Monday 16th February 2015. The 5-strong line-up boasts some of the best and fresh talent on the scene right now. Headliners, Don Broco will be backed up by main support, We Are The In Crowd. Bury Tomorrow, Beartooth and Young Guns will also be playing live sets. Since forming in 2008, Don Broco have released 4 EPs and a full-length studio album, “Priorities” in 2012. New York’s We Are The In Crowd formed in 2009 and have since released two studio albums, the most recent being, “Weird Kids”, released in February 2014.
London’s electro-indie outfit, Hot Chip have announced plans to play at The Art School in Glasgow on 12th May 2015, just days before sixth studio album, “Why Make Sense?” is released on the 18th. The band are known for indie-dancefloor favourites, “Over And Over” and “Ready For The Floor”. Tickets are available on Thursday 12th February 2015 at 10am.
Irish indie-folk band, Villagers are coming to Glasgow’s Oran Mor this April. Both album releases from the five-piece have gained them a Mercury Music Prize nomination. Singles from the band include, “On A Sunlit Stage”, “Becoming A Jackal”, “Passing A Message” and “Nothing Arrived”. Tickets go on sale on Friday 13th February 2015 at 9am.
