Gigs This Week
Hozier can be found at The Barrowland Ballroom this Wednesday (27th May 2015). The Irish singer/songwriter scooped The Billboard Music Award for Best Rock Artist and Best Rock Track for “Take Me To Church” last week. Hozier released his debut album, “Take Me To Church” in September 2014.
Friday (29th May 2015) will see Glasgow’s very own trio Prides claim centre stage at Lighthouse for a hometown gig. The synth-pop act have built up a large following via the release of singles, “Messiah” and “Out Of The Blue”. The band plan to release their debut offering,“The Way Back Up” this summer.
Former Roxy Music frontman, Bryan Ferry is live at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall this Friday (29th May 2015). Ferry released his 14th solo album, “Avonmore” in November 2014.
Welsh rockers, Manic Street Preachers are at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall this Saturday (30th May 2015) where they will be playing their third studio LP, “The Holy Bible” in full; the album was originally released in 1994. The band released their 12th studio album, “Futurology” in July 2014.
Pop-punkers, 5 Seconds Of Summer have taken mainstream music by storm and can be found at The SSE Hydro next Monday (1st June 2015). The quartet, from Australia, have enjoyed a string of hit singles since forming in 2011 including, “She Looks So Perfect”, “Don’t Stop” and “Good Girls”.
Alternative rockers Brand New will be playing at The Art School Union in Glasgow this coming Tuesday (2nd June 2015). The band are set to play just four intimate shows following the release of “Mene” last month; their first new material to come from the band in six years! The New Yorkers will also be returning to the UK for a larger tour in September which will see them play at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall.
Catfish And The Bottlemen have announced plans to tour at the end of the year and will take in Aberdeen’s Music Hall on 31st October 2015 and Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on 1st November 2015. The Welsh indie band’s debut album “The Balcony” was released in September 2014 and includes the singles,”Kathleen“, “Homesick” and “Cocoon“.
Pop duo, Beach House will be appearing at the O2 ABC in Glasgow on 26th October 2015. Along with the tour announcement, the band also revealed that their fifth album, “Depression Cherry” will be released on Friday 28th August 2015.
American indie rockers, Joywave will be at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Wednesday 2nd September 2015. The band, from New York, are currently supporting Killers frontman, Brandon Flowers on his UK Tour and released their debut LP, “How Do You Feel Now?” in April of this year.
English singer/songwriter, Lucy Rose will be at Aberdeen’s Lemon Tree and Glasgow’s Oran Mor on the 27/28th of October 2015 as part of her autumn tour in support of her new album, “Work It Out“.
