How does a band prepare for Glastonbury?

Well, in the case of London-based, indie folk band, Wildflowers it’s a free-wheelin’ acoustic tour where the venues are chosen by YOU!

Yup, you read right! Headed up by “the punk Dolly Parton”, Siddy Bennett, the band formed in 2012 and were first brought to your attention by Gutter HQ in June 2013. The band have received favourable comparisons to Fleetwood Mac and Eagles, and released their debut EP, “Wild Among The Flowers” in 2013.

Wildflowers’ #RaceToGlasto tour is scheduled to kick off at The Whistlefield Inn in Dunoon this Sunday (21st June 2015). From there, fans will choose where they play next; with just over a week until Glastonbury, the band, with just their gear and just £100 kitty, will play gigs all the way down the UK. Be it a pub, a house party, a school or a dinner party, it’s completely up to YOU! All you have to do to get involved is this unique tour is tweet the band @WildflowersHQ and include the following : #RaceToGlasto hashtag, which region you live in and the venue you’d like the band to play and why!

Wildflowers will keep fans up-to-date with the success of each gig, as well as their financial situation while out on the unpredictable road ahead! With just £100 kitty for the week, the band ask for a chance to pass around a bucket to help them get to the next gig, and to make it to Glastonbury on time!
