Gigs This Week

Camberley-born band, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels are bringing their blend of punk, ska and jazz to Glasgow’s Audio tonight (Wednesday 22nd July 2015). The band recently released EP, “Book Of Lies”.

Home-grown talent, C Duncan is at Glasgow’s CCA on Friday (24th July 2015). Born to classic musician parents, Duncan’s style blends his love of both classical and modern music. His debut offering, “Architect” is available now.

Bwani Junction are live at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut this Friday (24th July 2015) as part of the legendary’s venue’s annual Summer Nights line-up. The band, from Edinburgh, have released two studio albums to date; their debut effort, “Fully Cocked” and “Tongue Of Bombie”.

Edinburgh-born band, The Jackals are at The Record Factory on Friday (24th July 2015) as part of the venue’s Creation Sessions. The band describe themselves as “cosmic rock ‘n’ roll” and the gig will act as an album showcase where they will play their new LP, “People” in full.

Veteran punk rock band, Eddie & The Hotrods are at Glasgow’s Hug & Pint on Saturday (25th July 2015). The band, from Essex, formed in 1975 and are best known for their signature hit, “Do Anything You Wanna Do”, which scored them a UK Top 10 hit in 1977. In 2011, the band released “35 Years Of Teenage Depression”, a reworking of their 1976 debut, “Teenage Depression”.

Pop singer/songwriter, Kirsten Adamson celebrates her brand new EP, “Impossibilities” with a gig at Nice ‘N’ Sleazy’s this Saturday (25th July 2015). Kirsten is the daughter of Big Country legend, Stuart Adamson and launched the EP with a gig at Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s earlier this week. “Impossibilities” is available now.

Kentucky-beauty Angaleena Presley is live at Glasgow’s Broadcast on Sunday (26th July 2015). Described as the product of “if Loretta Lynn and John Prine had a baby”, Presley released her latest album, “American Middle Class” in October 2014.

Indie singer/songwriter, Badly Drawn Boy is at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Tuesday (28th July 2015). Badly Drawn Boy, aka Damon Gough, is celebrating 15 years since the release of his debut offering, “The Hour Of The Bewilderbeast” by playing the album in full.

Fresh from their headline slot at T In The Park earlier this month, Kasabian have announced a very special gig at Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on Thursday 20th August 2015

X Factor 2011 Winners, Little Mix have announced a 2016 tour. The band, who were the first group ever to win the TV Talent Show, will play at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on Saturday 19th March 2016 as part of the “Get Weird Tour”. The band’s third LP of the same name is scheduled for release in November 2015, and lead single, “Black Magic” scored the band their third UK number one single earlier this month.

Dundee’s finest, The View have announced a string of Scottish gigs in support of their forthcoming LP, “Ropewalk”. The mini-tour does NOT include a Glasgow or hometown gig yet, but The View will play Aberdeen’s Lemon Tree on Wednesday 16th September 2015 followed by two dates at Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms on Sunday 4th and Monday 5th October 2015. “Ropewalk” is scheduled for release in September 2015.

Indie-outfit, The Vaccines have announced a gig at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on Monday 7th December 2015. The band, who formed in 2010, released their third LP, “English Graffiti” in May 2015.
