The Legend Of Barney Thomson

Robert Carlyle makes his directorial debut in this Glasgow-based, black comedy. Carlyle is Barney Thomson, a mild-mannered barber whose career is going nowhere. However, after accidently killing someone, he decides on a change of career and embarks on life as a serial killer! Emma Thompson co-stars as Barney’s mother, Cemolina who is harbouring a dark secret of her own, while Ray Winstonea visiting cop from London, is hot on his trail! Homegrown talent Martin Compston, Ashely Jensen and Sam Robertson co-star.

Southpaw

Jake Gyllenhaal is Billy Hope, a boxer at the peak of his career who decides to bow out on a high and retire. However, his life is shattered when his wife, Maureen (Rachel McAdams) is killed in a car accident and his young daughter (Oona Laurence) is taken into protective custody. Hope’s one chance of redemption is to get back in the ring for one final fight, with the help of trainer, Tick (Forest Whitaker). Naomie Harris and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson co-star.

Eden

Inspired by true events, this nostalgic 1990s drama is set against French House music backdrop. The movie charts the highs and lows of Paul (Felix de Grivry), an aspiring DJ who, along with his friend, Greg, pioneers a style of house music known as “French Touch”, that transforms nightclubs up and down the country. Dance-duo, Daft Punk make a cameo.

Inside Out

Disney Pixar present an animated comedy about the little voices inside our heads! Riley is finding growing up tough, especially since being uprooted from her life in The Midwest to San Francisco due to her Dad’s new job. Thankfully, Riley has her emotions; Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) to guide her as she adapts to her new city, school and house, with hilarious results! Diane Lane and Kyle MacLachlan star.

Maggie

Tough guy, Arnold Schwarzenegger swaps action man for dedicated Dad in this emotional drama. Schwarzenegger is farmer, Wade Vogel whose runaway teenage daughter, Maggie (Abigail Breslin) is infected with the Zombie virus that has swept the US. Infected Maggie is still human, but could turn at any moment and is being held in quarantine; authorities agree to release her home to her father on one condition : any sign of transformation and Wade must kill her. Joely Richardson co-stars as Maggie’s Stepmother, Caroline.

Directed by Cameron Crowe, this coming of age tale follows 15 year old aspiring rock journalist, William Miller (Patrick Fugit), who, after being mistaken for an established professional by Rolling Stone Magazine, is assigned to tour with emerging talent, Stillwater. Mentored by rock journo, Lester Bangs (Philip Seymour Hoffman)  and befriended by “band-aid”, Penny Lane (Kate Hudson), William finds that being on the road with the band means a lot more to write home about than the music. Billy Crudup, Jason Lee, Zooey Deschanel, Anna Paquin, Jimmy Fallon and Frances McDormand co-star.

Movie News

The world was given a taste of things to come when the first full trailer for “Spectre” was unveiled on Wednesday (22nd July 2015). The film is the 24th James Bond movie and stars Daniel Craig as 007 for the last time; Craig made his Bond debut in 2006 with “Casino Royale”. “Spectre” co-stars Christoph Waltz, Naomie Harris and Ralph Fiennes and is scheduled for release on 26th October 2015.
