Gigs This Week
Tonight (Wednesday 26th August 2015) will see super-group FFS (Franz Ferdinand & Sparks) take to the legendary stage at The Barrowland Ballroom. The two bands have been collaborating since the mid-2000s, but their self-titled, debut offering didn’t drop until June of this year.
Tonight (Wednesday 26th August 2015) will also see pop-punk rockers, New Found Glory play at Edinburgh’s Liquid Room. The Florida-based quartet formed in 1997, and released their eighth studio LP, “Resurrection” in October 2014.
Welsh duo, Into The Ark play King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Thursday (27th August 2015). The gig is part of a current Scottish tour which takes them to The Loch Ness Inn in Inverness, The Electric Circus in Edinburgh and Dundee’s Buskers.
Dundee’s finest, The View are performing a very special DJ Set this Friday (28th August 2015) at The Record Factory in Glasgow. The band, who release their fifth studio LP, “Ropewalk” next week are scheduled to support Paolo Nutini at Bellahouston Park this weekend.
Hometown hero, Paolo Nutini kicks off 2015’s Summer Sessions this Saturday (29th August 2015) at Bellahouston Park. Paisley-born, Nutini released his third LP, “Caustic Love”, his first studio album in 5 years, in April 2014. Support comes from Grace Jones, The View, SOAK and Tuff Love.
Dumfries-born DJ, Calvin Harris plays the second Summer Sessions show on Sunday (30th August 2015). Harris released his debut album, “I Created Disco” in 2007; he has since collaborated with Ellie Goulding, Rihanna and Florence Welch and produced hit singles for Cheryl Fernandez Versini and Scissor Sisters. Harris’ latest LP, “Motion” was released in October 2014. Support comes from Ellie Goulding, John Newman, Disciples and Burns.
Welsh rockers, Stereophonics have announced a 10-date UK Tour for December 2015, including a date at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on the 9th. “Keep The Village Alive Tour” is in promotion of their new LP of the same name which is released on Friday 11th September 2015.

The Charlatans have unveiled plans to play Scotland later this year, with Frankie & The Heartstrings as support. The band, who formed in 1989, will play at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall and Dundee’s Caird Hall on the 14th and 15th of December, respectively. The Charlatans 12th studio LP, “Modern Nature” was released in January of this year.

The Kooks have announced a date at Glasgow’s Barrowland on 8th December 2015. The band, who formed in 2004, released their fourth studio album, “Listen” in September 2014.
