Gigs This Week

Californian punk rock duo, Girlpool are at Glasgow’s Broadcast tonight (Wednesday 9th September 2015). The pair, Cleo Tucker and Harmony Tividad, formed in 2013 and released their debut LP, “Before The World Was Big” in June of this year.

The Barrowland Ballroom plays host to Baltimore’s Future Islands tonight (Wednesday 9th September 2015). The synth-pop band formed in 2006 and have released four studio albums to date, the latest being 2014’s “Singles”.

Quirky British rock band, Half Man Half Biscuit are scheduled to play at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Friday (11th September 2015). The band, who formed in 1984, are known for their satirical and surreal songs (“Joy Division Oven Gloves”, anyone?!) and released their 13th studio LP, “Urge For Offal” in October 2014.

Homegrown talent, Lizzie’s Arcade are at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Friday (11th September 2015). The 6-piece ensemble hail from Glasgow’s Gorbals and formed in 2005

Florence + The Machine make their SSE Hydro debut on Monday (14th September 2015). The band, fronted by Florence Welch, formed in 2007 and released their latest studio offering, “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful” in June of this year; it follows their 2009 debut, “Lungs” and 2011’s “Ceremonials”.

Indie-pop, 6-piece Young Kato are at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Monday (14th September 2015). The band, who formed in 2011, have released two EPs to date; a self-titled EP in 2012 and 2014’s “Sunshine”. Debut LP, “Don’t Wait Til’ Tomorrow” is available now.

Just Announced

London-born band, Palma Violets have unveiled plans to play in Glasgow later this year. The band, who formed in 2011 and have released two LPs to date; their 2013 debut, “180” and “Danger In The Club”, which was released in May of this year, will be at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Friday 27th November 2015.

Scottish synth-pop band, Prides have unveiled plans to play in Glasgow in November. The band, from Glasgow, formed in 2013 and released their debut LP, “The Way Back Up” in May of this year. Prides will play Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Saturday 21st November 2015 with support from Fatherson.
