Gigs This Week

Reggae/pop royalty, UB40 are at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Thursday (8th October 2015). Having originally formed in Birmingham in 1978, the band have released 18 studio albums to date, the most recent being 2013’s “Getting Over The Storm”; the band’s last LP with trumpet player, vocalist and founding member, Astro.

Glaswegian trio, Baby Strange are at Saint Luke’s in Glasgow this Friday (9th October 2015) as part of their current UK Tour. The band’s latest single, “Pleasure City” is available now.

South Carolina grunge band, Heyrocco are scheduled to take the stage at Glasgow’s Hug & Pint this Friday (9th October 2015). The band formed in 2009 and released their debut album, “Teenage Music Soundtrack” in June 2015.

Glasgow’s 02 ABC has an unmissable double-header of rock tributes this Friday (9th October 2015) with Dirty Harry and Talk Of The Town; live tributes to Blondie and The Pretenders. Dirty Harry formed in Edinburgh in 2011 out of frontwoman, Sarah Kennedy’s desire to pay tribute to power pop goddess, Debbie Harry, while Talk Of The Town are the only UK tribute to Chrissie Hynde & Co.

Homegrown talent, Vukovi will be headlining The Art School this Saturday (10th October 2015). The female-fronted band have built up a strong following of loyal fans and have support slots alongside Young Guns and Mallory Knox in the pipeline.  “Boy George” is the latest single from the band and is available now.

The Brit answer to American rockers, Foo Fighters are at The 02 ABC this Saturday (10th October 2015) in the form of tribute band, Sonic Motorways. Ideal night out for any Foos fan who missed out on the real deal’s Murrayfield Stadium show last month.

Singer/songwriter, Ben Montague will be live at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Saturday (10th October 2015). The Kent-born musician has released three LPs to date, the most recent being 2013’s “Tales Of Flying And Falling”.

Canadian rock band, Metric are at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Sunday (11th October 2015). The band formed in Toronto in 1998 and released latest LP, “Pagans In Vegas” last month.

Aussie trio, Little May are at Glasgow’s King Tut’s on Sunday (11th October 2015) as part of their current tour; the band are out on the road in support of their debut LP, “For The Company” which comes out on Friday (9th October 2015).

Indie pop band, Swim Deep are scheduled to play Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Monday (12th October 2015). The band, who formed in 2011 in Birmingham, have released two studio albums to date, the latest being, “Mothers” which came earlier this month.

Liverpudlian indie rock band, Circa Waves are at The 02 ABC on Tuesday (13th October 2015). The band released their debut LP, “Young Chasers” in March of this year.

Glasgow’s King Tut’s is due to play host to Dublin-born band, Raglans on Tuesday (13th October 2015). The band formed in 2011 and their self-titled, debut LP was released in March 2014.

Just Announced

Veteran rocker, Bryan Adams has announced tour dates in support of his forthcoming LP, “Get Up”, due for release on Friday 23rd October 2015. Adams will play Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on Tuesday 5th April 2015.

Foals have unveiled plans to play Glasgow’s SSE Hydro in 2016; the band will be at the venue on 12th February 2016 in support of their latest LP, “What Went Down”.

Janet Jackson has announced a string of UK Tour dates for 2016 as part of her highly-anticipated return to music. Jackson’s brand new LP, “Unbreakable” is available now; it’s the first album from the singer in 7 years. Glasgow’s SSE Hydro will play host to Ms Jackson on Monday 4th April 2016.

Dundee’s own, The View have brought Christmas early for Glasgow fans with a date at the city’s 02 Academy on Wednesday 16th December 2015. The band are out in support of their latest studio effort, “Ropewalk” which came out last month.
