Gigs This Week

The Coronas are scheduled to play Glasgow’s Oran Mor tonight (Thursday 5th November 2015). The band, from Dublin, formed in 2003 and released their latest LP, “The Long Way” in November 2014; it was their first album release with Island Records.

Home-town heroes, The Fratellis are at Glasgow’s 02 ABC tonight (Thursday 5th November 2015). The trio are out in support of their latest LP, “Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied”, which was released in August of this year; it features the singles, “Me And The Devil” and “Baby Don’t You Lie To Me!”.

The SSE Hydro plays host to legendary Irish rockers, U2 this weekend (Friday 6th and Saturday 7th November 2015). The band are playing live in Glasgow as part of their current World Tour which kicked off in May in Canada. Bono and Co are out on the road in support of their latest LP, “Songs Of Innocence”; their 13th studio effort caused controversy when it dropped into every iTunes library (for FREE!) in the world last September.

Jess Glynne takes on Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Friday (6th November 2015). The singer/songwriter is best known for her vocal contribution to Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be”, which went to number one in The UK in January 2014. Glynne released her debut LP, “I Cry When I Laugh” in August of this year; it features the singles, “Right Here”, “Hold My Hand”, “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself”, “Real Love” and “Take Me Home”.

London-born singer/songwriter, Misty Miller is at Glasgow’s Garage on Friday (6th November 2015) as part of her current UK Tour. The 21 year old singer is playing this last leg of shows to round off 2015; Miller will be focusing on her debut LP due for release next year.

Saturday (7th November 2015) will see Scottish band, The LaFontaines take centre stage at Glasgow’s legendary Barrowland Ballroom. Formed in Motherwell in 2010, the band released their debut LP, “Class” in June 2015.

Glasgow’s 02 ABC plays host to Ella Eyre on Sunday (8th November 2015). The London-born singer/songwriter released her debut LP, “Feline” in August of this year; it features the singles, “Deeper”, “If I Go”, “Comeback”, “Together” and “Good Times”.

NY-duo, MS MR are at The Art School in Glasgow on Sunday (8th November 2015). Vocalist, Lizzy Plapinger and producer, Max Hershenow are known for their dream-pop fused indie sound; they have released two studio albums to date, the most recent being 2013’s “Secondhand Rapture”.

Alt-rockers, Lonely The Brave are at Glasgow’s Garage on Monday (9th November 2015). The band, from Cambridge, formed in 2009 and released their debut LP, “The Day’s War” in 2014.

Glasgow’s 02 Academy play host to country rockers, Blackberry Smoke on Monday (9th November 2015). The band, from Georgia, Atlanta, formed in 2000 and have released four LPs to date, the most recent being, “Holding All The Roses”, which dropped in February of this year.

Welsh rockers, Skindred are at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Tuesday (10th November 2015). The band, from Newport in South Wales released their sixth studio LP, “Volume” earlier this month. 

Just Announced

Manchester-born band, The 1975 have announced TWO dates at Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th March 2016 ahead of the release of their forthcoming second LP, “I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It”, due to drop in February 2016.

Aussie rockers, Tonight Alive have announced plans to return to play The UK in February 2016 including a date at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on the 21st.

Ohio’s own Walk The Moon have shared plans to play The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh on 19th February 2016. The band are best known for their radio-friendly hit, “Shut Up And Dance”, taken from the band’s latest LP, “Talking Is Hard”.
