Gigs This Week
Welsh duo, Into The Ark are at Glasgow’s Garage on Thursday (3rd December 2015). The pair, Dan Lloyd and Taylor Jones bonded over a shared love of music and playing live. The duo will also play at The Green Room in Perth on Friday (4th December 2015).
Glasgow’s 02 ABC play host to Brixton-born band, Alabama 3. The band blend electronic, blues, gospel, country and rock to get their signature sound, and are best known for their hit, “Woke Up This Morning”, the theme song from the hit U.S show, “The Sopranos”.
Homegrown hero, Gerry Cinnamon is at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Friday (4th December 2015) as part of his current tour. Cinnamon, from Castlemilk in Glasgow, wowed fans at T In The Park this summer and penned pro-Independence track, “Hope Over Fear”.
Glasgow’s 02 Academy plays host to a very special show when headliners, Shed Seven and special guests, Inspiral Carpets play on Friday (4th December 2015). Shed Seven originally formed in 1990 and released their Greatest Hits compilation, “Going For Gold” in 1999. Inspiral Carpets are from Manchester and formed in 1983; the band released their first studio album in over a decade in 2014.
Manchester-born, singer/songwriter, Shura is at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Saturday (5th December 2015). Taking influence from an eclectic range of artists including Pink Floyd, Haim, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Elton John and Tina Turner, Shura released her debut EP, “White Light” this year.
The Darkness are at Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Saturday (5th December 2015). The newly reformed band are out in support of their fourth studio LP, “Last Of Our Kind”, which dropped in May of this year, but are best known for their signature hit, “I Believe In A Thing Called Love”, featured on their debut album, “Permission To Land”.
Northern Irish rockers, Ash are at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Sunday (6th December 2015) with support from Asylums. The band formed in 1992 have released six studio LPs to date, the most recent being, “Kablammo!” which dropped in May of this year; their first album since 2007.
Glasgow’s 02 Academy plays host to Dublin-based band, Kodaline on Sunday (6th December 2015). The band, originally known as 21 Demands, released their debut LP, “In A Perfect World” in 2013; their second studio effort, “Coming Up For Air” followed in February of this year.
Texan rockers, Nothing More are at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Sunday (6th December 2015) as part of their debut UK headline tour. The band have released five studio albums to date, the most recent being their self-titled 2013 effort.
Indie rock band, Alt J make their SSE Hydro debut on Monday (7th December 2015) with support from The Horrors and Ghostpoet. The band, from Leeds, are out in support of their second studio effort, “This Is All Yours” which was released in September 2014.
Edinburgh’s Usher Hall plays host to London-born, indie band, The Vaccines on Monday (7th December 2015). The band released their third studio album in May of this year; it follows 2012’s “Come Of Age” and their debut LP, “What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?”, the fastest selling album of 2011.
Clyde 1 Live hits The SSE Hydro on Tuesday (8th December 2015) boasting a star-studded line-up including Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Stereophonics, Kodaline and Foxes.
The Kooks are at Glasgow’s Barrowland on Tuesday (8th December 2015). The band, from Brighton, released their fourth LP, “Listen” in 2014; it features the singles, “Bad Habit”, “Forgive & Forget” and “Around Town”.
Following her hugely successful comeback with her third LP, “25” earlier this month, Adele has announced her first tour in 4 years, including TWO dates at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th March 2016.

Homegrown talent, Chvrches have unveiled plans to make their SSE Hydro debut next year. The Glasgow-born trio released their second studio album, “Every Open Eye” earlier this year. Chvrches will be at The SSE Hydro on Saturday 2nd April 2016.
