Gigs This Week

Tonight (Thursday 14th January 2016) will see Glasgow’s Garage play host to alt-rock Candians, Three Days Grace, with support from We Are The Ocean. Three Days Grace released latest LP, “Human” last year, their first studio effort with new vocalist, Matt Walst. It features the tracks, “Painkiller”, “I Am Machine” and “Human Race”.

Glasgow’s Queen Margaret Union (QMU) plays host to singer/songwriter, Jamie Lawson tonight (Thursday 14th January 2016). Despite releasing his debut LP in 2003, Lawson didn’t achieve mainstream success until 2015 when he re-released 2011 single, “Wasn’t Expecting That”.

American rapper, Angel Haze is at Glasgow’s 02 ABC tonight (Thursday 14th January 2016). Haze, from Detriot in Michigan, released her debut LP, “Dirty Gold” in 2013.

London-born indie rockers, The Maccabees are scheduled to play The Barrowland on Friday (15th January 2016). The band, who formed in 2004, released their fourth studio LP, “Marks To Prove It” in July 2015; it features the singles, “Something Like Happiness”, “Spit It Out” and title track, “Marks To Prove It”.

Kentucky-born, Sturgill Simpson is at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Friday (15th January 2016) with support from Lera Lynn. The country singer has released two studio LPs independently; 2013’s “High Top Mountain” and “Metamodern Sounds In Country Music” in May 2014.

Hometown heroes, Errors are at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Saturday (16th January 2016). The trio formed in 2004 and are managed by Scots band, Mogwai. Errors released their fifth LP, “Lease Of Life” last year.

American singer/songwriter, Ron Pope is at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Sunday (17th January 2016) with his band, The Nighthawks. Pope released his debut LP, “Last Call” in 2007.

Glasgow blues band, The Temperance Movement are at The Barrowland on Wednesday (20th January 2016). The band, who formed in 2011, released their self-titled, debut LP in 2013 and the follow-up, “White Bear” is due to drop this year.

Just Announced

Heavy metal band, Trivium have announced TWO Scottish dates for March/April 2016. The band, from Florida, will play Aberdeen’s Beach Ballroom on Thursday 31st March 2016 and Kilmarnock’s Grand Hall on Friday 1st April 2016.

Essex born Rat Boy, aka Jordan Cardy, will be at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Friday 29th April 2016

Jersey born singer/songwriter, Nerina Pallot has unveiled plans to play Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Tuesday 12th April 2016. Pallot is best known for her 2005 single, “Everybody’s Going To War”, and has released five studio LPs to date, the most recent being 2015’s “The Sound And The Fury”.
