Gigs This Week

Scottish singer/songwriter, Nina Nesbitt is at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut tonight (Thursday 28th January¬†2016) as part of her current mini UK Tour. Nesbitt is out in support of her forthcoming EP, “Modern Love” which is released early next month; it features her latest single, “Chewing Gum”.

The SSE Hydro plays host to American sensation, Jason Derulo on Friday (29th January 2016). The Florida-born singer is out in support of his fourth studio LP, “Everything Is 4” which dropped last year. Support comes from former JLS singer, Aston Merrygold.

London-born singer/songwriter, Izzy Bizu is scheduled to play King Tut’s on Friday (29th January 2016). Bizu, who is of Ethiopian descent, has supported Sam Smith, Foxes and Rudimental and is out in support of her forthcoming debut LP, “A Moment Of Madness”, due to drop in May of this year.

Saturday (30th January 2016) will see Glasgow’s Garage play host to Nashville-born country rockers, The Cadillac Three. The band released their self-titled debut LP in May 2013.

Home-grown talent, Admiral Fallow are at Glasgow’s Old Fruitmarket on Saturday (30th January 2016). The band formed in 2007 and released their debut LP, “Boots Met My Face” in 2011. “Tiny Rewards”, the band’s third LP, was released in May last year.

Texan pop rockers, Bowling For Soup are at Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Monday (1st February 2016). The band, who formed in 1994, have released 10 studio albums to date, the latest being 2013’s “Lunch. Drunk. Love”. Despite announcing (and playing) a farewell tour in 2013, the band are out on their “How About Another Round? Tour” all next month.

The SSE Hydro plays host to a triple treat on Monday (1st February 2016) when The Carnival Of Madness Tour 2016 rolls into Glasgow. Kentucky rockers, Black Stone Cherry top the bill; the band formed in 2001 and are due to released their fifth studio LP, “Kentucky” in April of this year. Support comes from Pennsylvanian rockers, Halestorm and hard rockers from Florida, Shinedown.

Singer/songwriter, Gabrielle Aplin is at Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms on Monday (1st February 2016) and Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Tuesday (2nd February 2016). Aplin released her second studio effort, “Light Up The Dark” in September 2015.

Edinburgh’s Electric Circus plays host to rockabilly outfit, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis on Tuesday (2nd February 2016). The band, who are fronted by the Durham siblings, released their third studio LP, “The Third” in March 2015.

Californian rockers, Augustana are at Glasgow’s Broadcast on Wednesday (3rd February 2016). The band have released four studio LPs, the latest being 2014’s “Life Imitating Life”.

Just Announced

Beach Boy, Brian Wilson has announced plans to take “Pet Sounds” around the world one last time, including a string of UK dates. Wilson will be at Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall on Friday 27th May 2016.

Arctic Monkey, Alex Turner and Miles Kane have rejoined forces as The Last Shadow Puppets with a UK Tour in the works. The duo released their debut LP, “The Age Of The Understatement” in April 2008 with second LP, “Everything You’ve Come To Expect” due to follow in April of this year. The Last Shadow Puppets will be at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on Saturday 26th March 2016.

Old-school ska band, Madness have announced plans to play Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on Thursday 4th August 2016. The band formed in 1976 and released their tenth studio LP, “Oui Oui Si Si Ja Ja Da Da”¬†in October 2012.

Welsh rockers, Bullet For My Valentine will be at Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Wednesday 30th November 2016. The band released their fifth LP, “Venom” in August 2015.

Home-grown heroes, Travis will be at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Friday 6th May 2016. The band, from Glasgow, are best known for their signature song, “Why Does It Always Rain On Me?” and are set to release their 8th studio LP, “Everything At Once” later this year.
