Gigs This Week

King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut play host to heavy metal band, Soulfly tonight (Thursday 4th February 2016). The band, from Phoenix, Arizona, formed in 1997 and have released 10 studio albums to date, the most recent being 2015’s “Archangel”. Support comes from Incite (USA).

Glasgow-based, Irish singer/songwriter, Martha Ffion will be at Glasgow’s Hug & Pint on Friday (5th February 2016) as part of her current UK Tour. Ffion takes inspiration from The Beach Boys, Rilo Kiley and Nancy Sinatra and is known for her dream-pop sound.

Memphis-born, country punk rockers, Lucero are scheduled to play Glasgow’s Audio on Friday (5th February 2016). The band formed in 1998 and released their 11th studio LP, “All A Man Should Do” in September 2015. Support comes from Ducking Punches.

The Record Factory play host to The Stone Foxes on Friday (5th February 2016). The band, from San Francisco, California, formed in 2005 and are known for their blues-tinged rock ‘n’ roll. The Stone Foxes have released four studio albums to date, the most recent being 2015’s “Twelve Spells”.

Reading-born rock ‘n’ rollers, The Amazons are at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Saturday (6th February 2016). The quartet recently released their debut EP, “Don’t You Wanna?”

New Jersey, indie rockers, The Front Bottoms are at Glasgow’s Garage on Sunday (7th February 2016). The band formed in 2007 and released their fifth studio LP, “Back On Top” in September 2015.

American singer/songwriter, Eleanor Friedberger is scheduled to play Glasgow’s Broadcast on Sunday (7th February 2016). Friedberger is from Illinois and is best known as being one half of indie rock duo, The Fiery Furnaces, alongside older brother, Matthew. Friedberger released her debut solo LP, “Last Summer” in July 2011. Friedberger’s third solo LP, “New View” was released in January of this year.

Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall plays host to indie outfit, Suede on Monday (8th February 2016). The band formed in London in 1989 and their self-titled, debut LP was released in 1993; it was the fastest-selling, debut LP in over 10 years. The band will be performing their new album, “Night Thoughts”, which dropped in January of this year, in full as well as a mix of hits old and new.

London-born outfit, Ulrika Spacek are scheduled to play Glasgow’s Hug & Pint on Monday (8th February 2016). The band are out in support of their forthcoming debut LP, “The Album Paranoia”, which is due to drop this Friday (5th February 2016).

Norwegian newcomer, Okay Kaya is at Glasgow’s Broadcast on Monday (8th February 2016). Fast becoming know for her “spidery love songs”, Kaya is due to drop her debut album sometime in 2016.

Just Announced

Earth, Wind & Fire have unveiled plans to play Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Thursday 30th June 2016. The band, from Chicago, formed in 1969 and their tracks spanned across R&B, soul, funk, jazz and disco pop.

Rod Stewart has announced a UK Tour for November/December 2016, including a date at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on.
