Gigs This Week
Veteran rockers, Thunder are at Glasgow’s SECC tonight (Thursday 18th February 2016). The band, from London, formed in 1989 and have released 10 studio LPs to date, the most recent being 2015’s “Wonder Days”. Support comes from Terrorvision and King King.
Enter Shikari are at Glasgow’s 02 Academy tonight (Thursday 18th February 2016) and Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on Friday (19th February 2016) as part of their current tour. The band, who formed in 1999, released their latest, and fourth LP, “Mindsweep” in January 2015. Support comes from The Wonder Years and The King Blues.
LA-based, indie pop songwriters, Allison Weiss is at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut tonight (Thursday 18th February 2016). Weiss released her third LP, “New Love” last year; it follows 2013’s “Say What You Mean” and 2009’s “. . . Was Right All Along”.
American singer/songwriter, Halsey, aka Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, is scheduled to play Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Friday (19th February 2016). Halsey released her debut LP, “Badlands” in August 2015; it includes the singles, “Ghost”, “New Americana” and “Colours”.
Ohio-based pop-rockers, Walk The Moon are due to headline Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall on Friday (19th February 2016). The band have gained massive popularity in The UK the past year due to the success of their radio-friendly hit, “Shut Up And Dance”.
SWG3 plays host to American singer/songwriter, Julia Holter on Friday (19th February 2016). Holter released her fourth LP, “Have You In My Wilderness” in September 2015; it follows 2013’s “Loud City Song”, 2012’s “Ekstasis” and her 2011 debut, “Tragedy”.
Glasgow-born band, WHITE are at Glasgow’s QMU on Saturday (20th February 2016) as part of their current UK Tour. The band released their latest single, “Living Fiction” earlier this year.
Indie rockers, Mystery Jets are at The Art School in Glasgow on Saturday (20th February 2016). The band, from London, formed in 2003 and have released six studio albums to date, the most recent being, “Curve Of The Earth”, which dropped in January of this year.
Ohio-born duo, Twenty One Pilots play a sold-out gig at Glasgow’s Barrowland on Saturday (20th February 2016). The pair, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, released their second studio LP, “Blurryface” in May 2015. Support comes from Transviolet.
Aussie rockers, Tonight Alive are at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Sunday (21st February 2016). The band, from Sydney, are due to release their third studio LP, “Limitless” in March of this year. Support comes from Our Last Night and Milk Teeth.
Post-punks, Savages are scheduled to play The Art School in Glasgow on Sunday (21st February 2016). The band formed in 2011 and released their second studio effort, “Adore Life” in January of this year; it follows their 2013 debut, “Silence Yourself”.
Glasgow’s Stereo plays host to Spanish indie rockers, Hinds on Sunday (21st February 2016). The band, from Madrid, released their debut LP, “Leave Me Alone” earlier this year.
American rocker, Jesse Malin is at Glasgow’s King Tut’s on Monday (22nd February 2016). Malin is from New York and former frontman of Heart Attack. Malin released his latest solo LP, “Outisders” earlier this year.
Glasgow’s 02 Academy plays host to City And Colour on Wednesday (24th February 2016). City And Colour is a recording alias for Canadian singer/songwriter, Dallas Green and their fifth studio LP, “If I Should Go Before You” was released in October 2015; it features the singles, “Woman”, “Lover Come Back” and “Wasted Love”.
