Gigs This Week

Alt-rockers, Sleeping With Sirens are at Glasgow’s 02 Academy tonight (Wednesday 2nd March 2016). The band, from Orlando, Florida, released their fourth LP, “Madness” in March 2015

Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms play host to five-piece, Blossoms on Thursday (3rd March 2016) as part of their current UK Tour. The band are from Manchester and formed in 2013. Support comes from The Vryll Society.

English/Italian singer/songwriter, Jack Savoretti is at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Thursday (3rd March 2016). Savoretti has released four studio LPs to date, the most recent being 2015’s “Written In Scars”. Support comes from Earl.

Scottish band, Model Aeroplanes are at Edinburgh’s Caves on Thursday (3rd March 2016) and Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Friday (4th March 2016). The quartet are out in support of their new EP, “Something Like Heaven” which comes out this weekend. 

London-born indie rockers, The Rifles are at Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Thursday (3rd March 2016). The band formed in Chingford in 2004 and released their fourth, and latest, LP, “None The Wiser” in January 2014

Emerging talent, Fickle Friends are at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Thursday (3rd March 2016) as part of their current UK Tour. The quintet formed in 2013 and are fast becoming known (and loved) for their brand of “Brighton indie pop”. Support comes from Monogram.

Veteran rockers, The Cult are at Glasgow’s Barrowland on Friday (4th March 2016) as part of their current tour. The band, from West Yorkshire, formed in 1983 and are best known for their signature song, “She Sells Sanctuary”. The Cult released their 10th studio LP, “Hidden City” in February of this year.

Singer/songwriter, James Morrison is scheduled to play Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Friday (4th March 2016). Morrison released his fourth studio LP, “Higher Than Here” in October 2015; it follows 2011’s “The Awakening”, 2008’s “Songs For You, Truths For Me” and his 2006 debut LP, “Undiscovered”.

Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut plays host to exciting new talent, Strawberry Wine on Friday (4th March 2016) as part of their current headline tour. The band are becoming known for their sugary, sweet melodies and big riffs. Support comes from Perpetual Motion, Mannequin Mannequin and St Providence.

Saturday (5th March 2016) sees The Coral play Glasgow’s 02 ABC with support from Cut Glass King and Neon Waltz. The Coral formed in 1996 and are due to to release their eighth studio effort, “Distance Inbetween” this weekend.

Glasgow’s 02 Academy plays host to The Stranglers on Saturday (5th March 2016). The band, from Guildford, formed in 1974 and have released 17 studio LPs, to date, the most recent being 2012’s “Giants”.

Glasgow’s 02 ABC boasts an impressive live line-up this Saturday (5th) and Sunday (6th March 2016) when tributes to The Jam (The Underground Jam) and The Clash (Combat Rock) headline “March Of The Mods” in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. The Laynes, Dogtooth, Berry Tweed & The Chasers and The Cut Throat Razors are also scheduled to perform.
