Gigs This Week
Gaslight Anthem frontman, Brian Fallon is at Glasgow’s 02 ABC tonight (Wednesday 6th April 2016) with his new band, The Crowes. Fallon released his debut solo LP, “Painkillers” in March of this year; it features the single, “A Wonderful Life”.
King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut play host to duo, April Towers tonight (Wednesday 6th April 2016) who are out on their current UK Tour. The Nottingham pair, Charles Burley and Alexander Noble, are out in support of their forthcoming EP, “Silent Fever”, which is due to drop on Friday 15th April 2016.
Leeds-born quartet, The Dunwells are at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Thursday (7th April 2016). The band are out in support of their new EP, “Lucky Ones”. Support comes from Bronze Radio Return.
Glasgow’s 02 ABC plays host to Funeral For A Friend for a double dose this Sunday (10th April 2016) and Monday (11th April 2016). The Welsh band, who formed in 2001, are scheduled to play their 2005 album, “Hours” in full on Sunday, while their 2003 debut album, “Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation” will shape the set on Monday.
New Yorkers, Nada Surf are scheduled to play King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Sunday (10th April 2016). The band, who formed in 1992, have released seven studio LPs to date, the most recent being, “You Know Who You Are” which dropped earlier this year. Support comes from Amber Arcades.
Sauchiehall Street’s Priory Bar plays host to home-grown talent, The Lapelles on Sunday (10th April 2016). The band, from East Kilbride, are a five-piece indie pop outfit gathering momentum from both fans and critics alike, largely thanks to their latest single, “Snakehips”.
South London band, Vaults are at Glasgow’s Stereo on Monday (11th April 2016). The band, who formed in 2012, have received favourable comparisons to Florence + The Machine and Bat For Lashes due to their dreamy, electronic sound. The trio are due to release their debut LP later this year; it follows their self-titled EP from 2014 and 2015’s “Cry No More”.
Beerjacket is scheduled to play King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Monday (11th April 2016). Beerjacket, aka alt-folk singer, Peter Kelly, released his debut offering, “The White Feather Trail” in 2011.
Oran Mor play host to singer/songwriter, Nerina Pallot on Tuesday (12th April 2016). The London-born singer is best known for her 2005 signature song, “Everybody’s Gone To War”. Pallot has also written material for Kylie Minogue and X Factor contestant, Diana Vickers, and released her fifth studio album, “The Sound And The Fury” in September 2015.
Aussie rockers, Wolfmother are scheduled to play Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Tuesday (12th April 2016). The band, from Sydney, formed in 2000 and have released four studio LPs to date, the most recent being, “Victorious” which dropped in February of this year.
Psychedelic rockers, The Brian Jonestown Massacre have announced a show at Glasgow’s Barrowland on Thursday 9th June 2016. The band, from San Francisco, formed in 1988 and their unusual name is a nod to both Rolling Stones founder and former guitarist, Brian Jones and the infamous mass cult suicide in Jonestown, Guyana.
