Gigs This Week

Aussie pop rockers, 5 Seconds Of Summer are at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro tonight (Wednesday 20th April 2016). The band, from Sydney, formed in 2011 and released their self-titled, debut in June 2014. 5 Seconds Of Summer are out in support of their latest LP, “Sounds Good, Feels Good”, which dropped in October of last year.

Brit-born, Bellowhead are bringing their “Farewell Tour” to Glasgow’s 02 ABC tonight (Wednesday 20th April 2016). The 11-piece, folk band announced in June 2015 (via their website) that they would be calling it quits following the departure of singer, Jon Boden next month. The band have released five studio LPs in their 12 year career, the latest being 2014’s “Revival”.

Glasgow’s 02 Academy plays host to Norwegian DJ, Kygo tonight (Wednesday 20th April 2016). Kygo, aka Kyrre Gorvell-Dahll, is set to release his debut LP, “Cloud Nine” next month; it features the single, “Stay”, “Stole The Show”, “I.D” and “Here For You”

Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds are at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on Thursday (21st April 2016). Since Oasis’ demise in 2009, Gallagher has released two solo LPs; his self-titled debut, released in 2011 and the follow up, 2015’s “Chasing Yesterday”. Support comes from Super Furry Animals.

Glasgow’s Hug & Pint plays host to American ska band, The Toasters on Thursday (21st April 2016). The band, from New York City, formed in 1981 and have released nine studio albums to date, the most recent being 2007’s “One More Bullet”.

Hacienda Classical takes well-known (and loved) anthem from the legendary Hacienda nightclub in Manchester and gives them a whole new lease of life, with a little help from a full orchestra. Glasgow’s SSE Hydro plays host to this very special event on Friday (22nd April 2016) bringing new life to classic tracks by New Order, Happy Mondays and many, many more, and includes guest appearances by Peter Hook, Shaun Ryder and Graeme Park.

Homegrown talent, Lola In Slacks are at Glasgow’s Saint Luke’s on Friday (22nd April 2016). The six-piece band, from Glasgow, are causing a stir on the local scene thanks to their bold and edgy sound.

LA-born, rap/rockers, Hollywood Undead are scheduled to play Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Saturday (23rd April 2016). The band formed in 2005 and have released four studio LPs to date, the most recent being 2015’s “Day Of The Dead”.

Country music singer, Kip Moore is at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Saturday (23rd April 2016) as part of his current “Wild Ones Tour”. Moore, is from Georgia, and released his debut album, “Up All Night” in April 2012; the follow-up, “Wild Ones” dropped in August 2015.

The Twistettes are launching their brand new album, “Jilt The Jive” at Nice ‘N’ Sleazy’s on Saturday (23rd April 2016) with support from The Girobabies. The duo, Jo and Nicky D’Arc are known (and loved) for their brand of alt punk, riot grrl and psychobilly sound.

Liverpudlian indie rockers, Cast are at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Sunday (24th April 2016). The band, who originally formed in 1992, have released five studio albums to date, the most recent being 2012’s “Troubled Times”.

Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut plays host to Northern Irish band, Silences on Sunday (24th April 2016). The band, from County Armagh, are out in support of their latest EP, “Luna” which dropped earlier this month. 

UB40 are at Glasgow’s 02 Academy on Monday (25th April 2016) on their current “Labour Of Love I & II Tour”. The Birmingham-born reggae/pop band are best known for their signature hits, “Red, Red Wine”, “Kingston Town” and their take on Elvis Presley’s “(Can’t Help) Falling In Love”, which topped both The UK and US Singles Charts.

Glasgow’s Hug & Pint have The Flatliners on the bill on Monday (25th April 2016). The punk band, from Canada, formed in 2002 and released their latest LP, “Division Of Spoils” last year. Support comes from Pale Angels and Science Made Us Robots

American indie rockers, Modern Baseball are at Glasgow’s Stereo on Tuesday (26th April 2016). The band, from Philadelphia, formed in 2011 and are set to release their third LP, “Holy Ghost” this year; it follows 2014’s “You’re Gonna Miss It All” and their 2012 debut, “Sports”.

Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall plays host to progressive rockers, Yes on Tuesday (26th April 2016). The band, from London, formed in 1968 and have released 21 studio albums to date, the most recent being 2014’s “Heaven & Earth”.

Just Announced

Canadian rockers, Barenaked Ladies have announced plans to play Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Friday 2nd September 2016. The band are best known for their signature hit, “One Week”, which featured on “American Pie” movie soundtrack.

M83 have unveiled plans to play Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Monday 27th June 2016. The electronic band, from France, released their seventh studio album, “Junk” earlier this month.
