Gigs This Week
Houston-born superstar, Beyoncè will be taking over Glasgow’s Hampden Park on Thursday (7th July 2016) as part of her “Formation World Tour”; the tour coincides with the release of her sixth studio album, “Lemonade” which dropped in April. Expect to hear a mixed bags of hits old and new proving why Bey is Queen.
Broadcast plays host to Virgin Kids on Friday (8th July 2016). The band, from London, will be showcasing their brand of garage punk/rock; their debut album dropped in March of this year. Support comes from The Bellybuttons.
Dream pop outfit, The Telescopes are at Glasgow’s Hug & Pint on Saturday (9th July 2016). The band, from Staffordshire, formed in 1987 and have released eight studio LPs to date, the most recent being 2015’s “Hidden Fields”.
Audio play host to Employed To Serve on Monday (11th July 2016). The band, from Woking, are bringing their brand of “nasty hardcore” to Glasgow.
American rocker, Jesse Malin is scheduled to play Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Tuesday (12th July 2016). Malin, from Queens in New York, is out in support of his double 2015 release, “New York Before The War” and “Outsiders”.
Nice ‘N’ Sleazy’s play host to Aussie born, indie rockers, Tired Lion on Tuesday (12th July 2016). The quartet, from Perth, are on a current tour taking in both European and festival dates, including Open Air Festival in Switzerland and Rock For People Festival in Czech Republic.
Elvis Costello & The Imposters are set to play Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom on Wednesday (13th July 2016). Costello, from London, has fronted The Imposters, The Attractions and The Roots producing over 30 studio LPs to date, the most recent being 2013’s “Wise Up Ghosts” and has shaped the new wave and punk rock genre since 1970.
Fresh from releasing his third studio effort, “A Sailor’s Guide To Earth” in April, Sturgill Simpson will be at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Wednesday (13th July 2016). Simpson, from Kentucky, released his debut album, “High Top Mountain” in June 2013 followed by 2014’s “Metamodern Sounds In Country Music”.
Yellowcard will be bringing their Farewell Tour to Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Monday 12th December 2016. The Florida-born band formed in 1997 and released 10 studio LPs to date, the most recent being their self-titled LP which dropped this year. Support comes from Normandie and Kenneths.

American R&B girl group, Fifth Harmony are set to play Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on Thursday 6th October 2016. The band came third on 2012’s American X Factor and released their debut album, “Reflection” in 2015; their second studio effort, “7/27” followed in May of this year.
