Gigs This Week

Primal Scream are scheduled to headline Kelvingrove Bandstand tomorrow (Thursday 11th August 2016) as part of Summer Nights line-up. The band, who formed in Glasgow in 1982, released their 11th studio album, “Chaosmosis” in March of this year; it features the single, “Where The Light Gets In”, which features guest vocals from Sky Ferreira.

King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut play host to alt-indie rockers, Sonic Dispace tomorrow (Thursday 11th August 2016). The band, who formed in Motherwell in 2013, work towards, by their own admission, “creating and performing music for all to enjoy”.

Fresh from releasing their latest studio effort, “The Outer Reach” in June of this year, blues-fused, rock band, Albany Down are at Glasgow’s Nice ‘N’ Sleazy’s on Friday (12th August 2016) as part of their current tour. 

Glasgow’s Hug & Pint play host to London-born shoegazers, Sulk on Friday (12th August 2016). The band, who formed in 2011, released their second LP, “No Illusion” in April of this year; it followed their 2013 debut, “Graceless”.

Country singer/songwriter, SaraBeth is at Glasgow’s Stereo on Saturday (13th August 2016). The Dallas-born songstress is out in support of her latest offering, “Full Speed Ahead” and is supported by Glen Mitchell.

Glasgow’s CCA plays host to American rock duo, The Oh Hellos on Saturday (13th August 2016). The pair, siblings, Tyler and Maggie Heath, are from Texas and have released three studio albums to date, the most recent being 2015’s “Dear Wormwood”.

King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut play host to homegrown talent, Painted Waves on Sunday (14th August 2016). The band, from Glasgow, describe themselves as “a band with a cause for creating something different”. Support comes from The Gracious Attempt.

Pop Idol winner, Will Young headlines Kelvingrove Bandstand on Sunday (14th August 2016) as part of Summer Nights line-up. Young won the TV talent show in 2002, beating favourite, Gareth Gates and released his sixth sudio effort, “85% Proof” in May 2015.

Zimbabwe-born rapper, Tkay Maidza is at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Tuesday (16th August 2016). The musician, now based in Australia, released her EP, “Switch Tape” in October 2014
