Gigs This Week
King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut play host to The Vryll Society tomorrow night (Wednesday 26th October 2016). The band, from Liverpool, are currently out on their UK Tour in a bid to “stimulate both the soul and the mind”. Support comes from Hidden Charms.
Dutch singer/songwriter, Amber Arcades is scheduled to play Glasgow’s Hug & Pint tomorrow night (Wednesday 26th October 2016). Arcades, real name Annelotte de Graff, released her debut LP, “Fading Lines” in June of this year.
The Art School plays host to East London-born singer/songwriter, NAO tomorrow night (Wednesday 26th October 2016). NAO, real name Neo Jessica Joshua, released her debut album, “For All We Know” in July 2016.
International pop sensation, Justin Bieber is scheduled to play at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on Thursday (27th October 2016). Bieber, from Ontario, Canada, is out in support of his latest LP, “Purpose” released in November 2015; it features the hit singles, “Sorry” and “Love Yourself”.
Oxford indie rockers, Glass Animals are scheduled to play The Art School on Thursday (27th October 2016). The band released their second studio effort, “How To Be A Human Being” in August of this year; it follows their 2014 debut, “Zaba”.
Saint Luke’s play host to Augustines’ Farewell Tour on Thursday (27th October 2016). The band, from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2010 and released their debut LP, “Rise Ye Sunken Ships” in 2011; their third LP, “This Is Your Life” dropped earlier this year.
Birdy is scheduled to play Glasgow’s 02 ABC on Friday (28th October 2016). The Hamsphire-born singer/songwriter is out in support of her latest LP, “Beautiful Lies” which dropped in March of this year; it follows her 2011 self-titled debut and 2013’s “Fire Within”.
Former Keane frontman, Tom Chaplin plays Saint Luke’s on Friday (28th October 2016) in support of his debut solo album, “The Wave” which was releases earlier this month.
Homegrown heroes, Nazareth are scheduled to play Glasgow’s Oran Mor on Saturday (29th October 2016). The band, from Dunfermline, originally formed in 1968 and have released 23 studio albums throughout their career, the most recent being 2014’s “Rock ‘N’ Roll Telephone”.
Aussie folk band, Oh Pep! are scheduled to play Glasgow’s Hug & Pint on Sunday (30th October 2016). The Melbourne-born band released their debut album, “Stadium Cake” in June.
Glasgow’s Stereo plays host to French electro-pop outfit, Zombie Zombie on Sunday (30th October 2016). The duo’s set-list includes their interpretations of the music of both John Carpenter and Sun Ra.
Country Legend, Kenny Rogers is bringing The Gambler’s Last Deal Tour to Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on Monday (31st October 2016). Expect to hear the best bits of the 78 year old’s back catalogue including, “Ruby, Don’t Take Your Love To Town” and, of course, “The Gambler”.
Glasgow’s Oran Mor plays host to Leeds-born singer/songwriter, Corinne Bailey Rae on Monday (31st October 2016). Bailey Rae is out in support of her third LP, “The Heart Speaks In Whispers” which dropped in May of this year, her first album in 6 years.
