David Shrigley was a contributor to this years’ Concrete & Glass festival – an event that brought together art and music. Looking over his website there are a lot of treats in store. I knew of his work through his album art and music videos, but he has a lot more than that to offer audiences.

Shrigley is an artist in the broadest sense of the word. His work spans drawings, animation, sculptures, writing, spoken word, t-shirts, prints, and music videos. He also DJ’s occasionally, and there is probably something else I am missing out. This article will focus on his contribution to the music scene, and his artworks.

The Scottish Borders are well known for many things. Fresh air, Sunday drives, gambling lambs, beautiful rolling hills, picturesque views, Scotland's highest concentration of Tories (don't hold it against them) and an addiction to club rugby. You may therefore find it unsurprising that pounding electro raves are, for the most part, a foreign concept to the farmer folk of these quaint country towns.
