The Prodigy Announce Glasgow Gig

Glasgow’s 02 Academy are scheduled to play host to The Prodigy later this year when they play the city as part of their freshly announced UK Tour.

Best known for their signature song, “Firestarter”, The Prodigy formed in 1990 and have released six studio efforts to date, the most recent being 2015’s “The Day Is My Enemy” which spawned the singles, “Nasty”, “Wild Frontier”, “Ibiza” and the title track.

Fronted by Keith Flint, the tour is set to kick off at Manchester’s 02 Apollo (14th December 2017) before stopping off for shows in Doncaster’s Dome (15th), Plymouth’s Pavilions (16th), Glasgow’s 02 Academy (18th), Wolverhampton’s Civic Hall (19th) and concluding with a triple header at London’s 02 Academy Brixton (21st/22nd.23rd).

Tickets go on-sale on Friday 29th September 2017 at 10am.

Paolo Nutini Wants YOU (To Buy Music)

Paisley-born singer/songwriter, Paolo Nutini has launched his bid to get people into HIS local independent record shop and give fans a chance to enjoy an up close and personal performance with the man himself.

In collaboration with Paisley’s Feel The Groove indie record shop, Nutini has appealed to the public to visit the store on Causeyside Street to both stimulate local business and create a buzz around the town’s bid to be UK City Of Culture in 2021

No matter what music you’re in the market for – singles, albums, world music, old second treasures – Feel The Groove welcome you, and are giving you the chance to be one of just 30 lucky fans to see Paolo Nutini peform live in-store on Thursday 19th October 2017. The owner of Feel The Groove, Gavin Simpson said, “It’s an absolute honour to be able to host Paolo in the shop and for him to work with us on such an initiative. It’s great news for Paisley”.

If you spend £5 in store between now and Monday 16th October 2017, you will receive a token, That token will then be entered into a prize draw and 30 lucky winners will be chosen “out of the hat” and receive a pair of tickets to attend the intimate in-store special performance. 

Paolo Nutini is currently working on his fourth studio effort due for release in early 2018.



Robbi McFaulds In Glasgow Show

Homegrown talent, Robbi McFaulds has announced a headline gig at Nice ‘N’s Sleazy’s in Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street in November.

McFaulds is a singer/songwriter from Airdrie who takes inspiration from fellow countrymen, Paolo Nutini and Aztec Camera, and has been penning music since the tender age of 15. Last year, McFaulds was chosen by Vodafone as their “Future Breakers” artist of the week beating hundreds of other musicians throughout the year to the coveted first place. 

“Lies” is the debut single from Robbi McFaulds; a track produced by Anthony Goldbrough, known for his work with Ed Sheeran and Emeli Sande, and deals with deception in a relationship. A track that McFaulds himself describes as “being about someone who can lie through their teeth without feeling any regret”.

Shed Seven Announce “Instant Pleasures”

Britpop veterans Shed Seven have announced details of their forthcoming fifth studio album, “Instant Pleasures” due for release in November; it will be the first LP from the band in 16 years.

The York born band, who originally formed in 1990, are best known for their signature songs, “Chasing Rainbows” and “Going For Gold”. Shed Seven have also unveiled plans to tour The UK in December with many shows already sold out.

#SHEDCEMBER, as they’re calling it, kicks off on Monday 20th November 2017 in Inverness before taking in shows including Edinburgh’s Liquid Rooms (22nd), Dublin’s Olympia (24th), Glasgow’s 02 Academy (30th Nov/1st Dec), Nottingham’s Rock City (8th), Bournemouth’s 02 Academy (12th), London’s 02 Brixton Academy (16th) and Manchester’s Academy 1 (22nd/23rd). The band will be supported by special guests, Cast.

“Instant Pleasures” is scheduled for release on Friday 10th November 2017 and features brand new single, “Room In My House” which is available now. The album is their first since 2001’s “Truth Be Told”.

Tuesday (19th September 2017) : The Sherlocks @ 02 ABC

Bolton’s band of brothers, The Sherlocks are at Glasgow’s 02 ABC tonight. The band, who consists of two sets of brothers, Kiaran and Brandon Crook and Andy and Josh Davidson released their debut single, “Live For The Moment” in 2014. Their debut LP of the same name dropped last month.

Wednesday (20th September 2017) : Barns Courtney @ The Hug & Pint

The Hug & Pint play host to English singer/songwriter, Barns Courtney on Wednesday night. Courtney is scheduled to release his debut offering, “The Attractions Of Youth” at the end of this month.

Thursday (21st September 2017) : Shane Filan @ SECC

Former Westlifer, Shane Filan is flying his solo flag at Glasgow’s SECC this week. Filan is out in support of his third solo offering, “Love Always” which was released in August 2017. Support comes from Guy Sebastian.

Friday (22nd September 2017) : Vulfpeck @ Glasgow’s 02 ABC

American funk band, Vulfpeck are scheduled to play Glasgow’s 02 ABC this weekend. The band, who formed in 2011, have released two studio LPs to date; their 2015 debut, “Thrill Of The Arts” and 2016’s “The Beautiful Game”.

Saturday (23rd September 2017) : The Jesus & Mary Chain @ Glasgow’s 02 ABC

Homegrown heroes, The Jesus & Mary Chain are scheduled to play Glasgow’s 02 ABC this weekend as part of their current tour. Brothers, Jim and William Reid, are out in support of their latest LP, “Damage & Joy” which was released in March, their first LP release in 19 years.

Sunday (24th September 2017) : Waterparks @ King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut

Texan band, Waterparks are scheduled to play Glasgow’s King Tut’s this weekend. The band, who formed in 2011, released their debut offering, “Double Dare” in November 2016; it features the singles, “Stupid For You”, “Hawaii (Stay Awake)” and “Royal”.

Monday (25th September 2017) : Juanita Stein @ King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut

Aussie songstress and Howling Bells vocalist/guitarist, Juanita Stein is at Glasgow’s King Tut’s early next week. Stein, is scheduled to support US band, The Killers on tour in November, is out on her own touting her debut solo effort, “America”.



Hudson Taylor Announce King Tut’s Show

Irish folk duo, Hudson Taylor have announced a gig at Glasgow’s legendary King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in January 2018.

The duo, brothers Harry and Alfie Hudson-Taylor, are best known for their signature single, “Chasing Rubies” which was released in 2014, it features on their debut LP, “Singing For Strangers” which dropped in January 2015. “Singing For Strangers” also features the singles, “Battles”, “Weapons” and “World Without You” and peaked at #24 in The UK Charts upon release.

The pair dropped video for brand new single, “Feel It Again” last week.

Hudson Taylor are scheduled to play King Tut’s on Monday 22nd January 2018.
