There’s one thing I appreciate about an up and coming emcee is they’re consistent grind of just building they’re buzz up, I can’t stress how hard North Carolina native emcee King Mez works on his craft and grind, I’ve heard he use to attend Morgan State a couple of years back, this emcee name is everywhere on the blogs. Fresh off his “Champion” ski beats and Apple Juice Kid, Stussy sponsorship, and his MTV Sucker free Sunday freestyle appearance Mez links up with soul council producer and 1/2 of the Away Team “Khrysis” and brings hip hop listeners there free ep entitled “The Kings Khrysis.”

The smooth bass lines on the anthemic “From the South” finds Mez, Tom Hardy and Sean Boog confidently repping their home state North Carolina, with cuts by DJ Flash over a signature chopped Khrysis sample plays very well amongst the three to just drop some excellent bars, Hardy makes me crack a smile with humorous rhymes like..”knew a girl from Kentucky, thick from the fried chicken/ I jumped in her cavity and I was drilling like dentist assistants”./What stands out from most emcees that’s coming out now that Mez has a great advantage on is his raspy voice that compliments his distinctive delivery, more so once you listen to him he has your full undivided attention, on “Somethings Missing” clearly states he’s what the game needs right now, and i can co-sign towards that statement with boastful lines….”speeding in my own lane/light years ahead of anybody my own age”/ its very rare to find emcees at his age who have a very good sense and knowledge of the hip hop culture. on this track Khrysis actually surprises me with some of the cliche southern snares and high hats, which is different from his previous production I’m use to which is sample based heavy. On the warning shot to wack rappers “Nightmare”  Mez gives emcees a reason to be scared, with his consistent work ethic and grind he shares why he stands out from all of the potential up and comers that claim there putting in a tremendous amount of work with lines like….”when your chilling, with women, and sipping,  white liquor im elevating my thoughts….” Phonte of Little Brother pays homage to the young emcee, and lends a helping hand on the titled ep track, with dope word play and insane crazy rhyme patterns of what he’s known for. This is a Free Ep, presented by with 6 enjoyable joints that will be guaranteed on repeat mode, Mez is on a mission and is trying to reign supreme until the young spitter is crowned king!!!
