Irish outfit The Plea have been causing quite a stir lately, and rightly so!

The band, originally from Ballyliffen, Ireland release their brand new single, “Oh Ay Yay” tomorrow (Monday 23rd April) a solid, confident effort that bears more than a hint of U2 grandeur and ambition with a little updating courtesy of electronics.

Brothers Denny and Dermot Doherty are at the heart of The Plea and began their career in humble surroundings playing T Rex and The Doors covers in London after relocating from Ireland before heading Stateside to Boston where they worked as labourers by day before setting the city’s Irish pubs and bars alight with their musical talents.

The brothers recruited drummer Gerry Strawbridge and bassist Paul Toland to complete the band in 2009 despite having lost more than a little faith in the music industry when a record deal had eluded them, however, good use of MySpace where the band began posting videos of their tracks paid off and Belgian dance label R&S signed them as their first ever rock signing.

The Plea draw inspiration from their many influences and have already received favourable endorsements from music magazines and websites.

“Oh Ay Yay” showcases what the band have to offer in terms of raw talent, ambition and quiet confidence and precedes their debut album expected for release in May 2012.
