The Wickerman Festival in Dumfries & Galloway in Scotland is set to return this weekend for it’s 12th consecutive year.

One of the most anticipated live events in the Scottish calendar will welcome around 5,000 people starting tomorrow and has grown in popularity since it’s beginnings due to it’s ecelctic mixture of iconic bands, festival favourites and local talent; a menu that caters to all tastes.

Revellers will descend onto the site for a stellar line-up of live music including Scissor Sisters and homegrown talent in the form of Texas, The View and Kassidy.

The festival offers a whole range of activities that appeal to people of all ages and interests; a drumming workshop, hula hooping, fire walking, dance workshops and beach volleyball will all be available over the weekend.

This year’s fancy dress theme is “Olympia” and their outdoor cinema is scheduled to show classic chiller, “Rosemary’s Baby” as well as the original version of “The Wicker Man”, of course.

The conclusion of the festival is as anticipated as the event itself with a 25 ft Wicker Man being burned, similarly to the movie.
