Festival season soldiers on here in Scotland (despite inappropriate weather) with The Tartan Heart Festival taking place this weekend (Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August 2012)

Also known as Belladrum Festival as it’s held on the Belladrum Estate near Inverness, festival goers have been flocking in their thousands to the event since 2004, dubbing it “Heartness”.

Returning for it’s 9th consecutive year, Belladrum boasts an impressive yet eclectic line-up this year suitable for all ages, backgrounds and musical preferences; Scottish band Travis who shot to fame with their album, “The Man Who” in 1999 are scheduled to headline the event along with indie/pop favourites, The Wombats known for their indie-dancefloor hit, “Let’s Dance To Joy Division”.

Similarly to The Wickerman Festival, Belladrum has grown in popularity because of it’s diverse line-ups and family friendly atmosphere with kids under 12 camping completely free.

With live music peformed across six stages, previous performers have included The Proclaimers,Kassidy, Echo & The Bunnymen, Biffy Clyro, James, The Waterboys and Editors among many, many more.

Belladrum Festival 2012 is sold out but highlights are scheduled to be shown on BBC Alba over the weekend.
