In the spirit of St Valentine’s Day this week, Scotland’s Wickerman Festival have unveiled plans to help festival fans celebrate their love; the independent festival are launching The Wicker Love Lounge.

Set in a luxury, handcrafted on-site yurt, The Wicker Love Lounge will allow festival-goers the chance to propose marriage to their better half complete with wicker promise rings and a wicker kneeling stool to pop that all important question. Completing the ultimate fetsival romance experience, couples will be treated to wild flowers, celebratory champagne, a dedicated love lounge host and a personalised playlist.

Festival organisers were inspired to create The Wicker Lounge due to the ever-growing popularity of proposing AND marrying at festivals.

Wickerman will play cupid this Valentine’s Day by offering twelve love-struck music fans the chance to propose to their partner in this very special, nationwide competition.

Festival Co-Ordinator, Helen Chalmers said, “If music be the food of love, then this year’s festival is the perfect place to ‘play on’ and we’re delighted to launch our first Wicker Love Lounge Wickerman has a reputation for being one of Scotland’s most relaxed and friendly events and it is also becoming known as quite a romantic event. We have already had a 2013 wedding request and are hopeful that our new Love Lounge will provide a truly original proposal setting”.

To be in with a chance of winning the opportunity to propose at Wickerman this July, entrants must submit 100 words on how they met their partner and why they want to propose at Wickerman Festival. Entries will be acepted from 14th February – 14th April 2013 via with winner being notified by 30th April 2013.

The Wickerman Festival takes place in Dundrennan in Dumfries & Galloway (Scotland) on 26th and 27th July 2013 with Scottish-based band, Primal Scream already announced as one of this summer’s headliners.
