Albert Hammond Jr. is coming to Glasgow.

Fresh from his American tour, The Strokes guitarist turned solo artist will be heading to Broadcast (Sauchiehall Street) in December. Promoting both his new album, “AHJ”, and his supporting band Mexican rock band, Rey Pila, the 7th of December promises a rockin’ night!

Albert Hammond Jr rocketed to fame as guitarist with New York outfit The Strokes whose 2001 debut offering, “Is This It?” caused a stir on both sides of the Atlantic and paved the way for bands such as Franz Ferdinand, The Killers and Arctic Monkeys, among others. AHJ”  follows Hammond Jr.’s 2007 debut album “Yours To Keep” and 2008’s “Como Te Llama”.

Born in Mexico City, Rey Pila released their self-titled debut album in 2009 before moving to New York and singing to The Strokes’ frontman, Julian Casablancas record label, Cult Records in 2012. They released single, “Alexander” in October and have an interesting synth-rock take of  Chris De Burgh’s “Lady In Red” waiting to be enjoyed.
