Today is all about Dads! They embarrass us, lecture us and worry about us while acting as our own personal cash machine and chaffeur combined; we love them dearly despite their cringe-worthy dance moves and awful, awful jokes.

To celebrate Fathers Day, Gutter HQ takes a lot at some famous Dads and why we love them like our own!

Homer Simpson (The Simpsons)

Donut-loving, beer drinking Homer reasonates with Dads everywhere; he may be known for his stupidity, but it’s his love for his wife and three children that has kept us watching for over two decades. Episodes including where Homer gives up his dream job working in a bowling alley to support his family (after discovering Marge is pregnant with Maggie), reminds us that this buffoon always puts his family first.

Johnny Depp

Movie heartthrob, Johnny has two children with former long-term partner, Vanessa Paradis. Daughter, Lily Rose, 15 and son, Jack, 12, were Depp’s inspiration in crossing over to family films, including Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and Pirates Of The Caribbean. Big hearted-Dad Depp donated £1 million to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2008 and visited sick children there in his Captain Jack Sparrow costume to play with them and read them stories, after the hospital cared for his daughter following an E-Coli infection in 2007. Depp is reportedly planning more children with current fiancee, Amber Heard.

Cameron Tucker and Mitchell Pritchett (Modern Family)

Dad duo, Cam and Mitch have proved that parents don’t necessarily have to include a Mum and Dad; flamboyant, carefree Cam and level-headed, logical Mitch are the perfect hybrid of fun and disciplined parenting for adopted daughter, Lily. Cue first-time parents panics and the tricky task of explaining “girl stuff” to Lily and you’ll understand why this parenting team are so popular!

David Beckham

Golden Balls Becks manages to be a hands-on Dad to Brooklyn, 15, Romeo, 12, Cruz, 9 and Harper, 3 despite being one half of the most high-profile couples in the world. Mr Posh Spice has passed on his enthusiasm for sport and style to his young sons and daughter and is “adopted Dad” to millions of underprivileged children around the world, due to his involvement with Sport Relief and Unite For Children.

Walter White (Breaking Bad)

OK, so a meth-cooking, gun-slinging, manipulating and calculating drug lord doesn’t exactly say, “Perfect Dad”, but Walter White’s whole motivation came from his devotion to his family. Diagnosed with terminal cancer and terrified of leaving his family behind penniless and unable to cope, Walt turned mild-mannered Chemistry teacher into criminal mastermind, Heisenberg, braving a dangerous and unfamiliar world where a constant threat hung over him, in a bid to make enough money to help wife, Skylar and children, Walter Junior and Holly face life without him.

Brandon Flowers (The Killers)

Flamboyant frontman to one of the biggest rock bands of the last decade, it would be safe to assume that Brandon Flowers has little time to sleep let alone anything else, but somewhere in between selling millions of albums and playing to hundreds of thousands of fans across the globe, Flowers has already started his own mini-Rock band! Dad to Ammon, 6, Gunnar, 4 (pictured above) and Henry, 3, Flowers has cited “faith and family” as paramount in keeping him grounded and he and his family featured in a promotional video for The Church Of Jesus Christ Of The Latter Day Saints. ” I didn’t know I could be so selfless. I would do anything for my kids. Anything.”

Peter Griffin (Family Guy)

When it comes to half-assed, hilarious parenting, no-one can touch Peter Griffin! The heart and soul of Seth MacFarlane’s “Family Guy”, Peter is the epitome of the All-American Dad; loves beer, boobies, fart jokes, his country, and above all, his family! This clip speaks for itself . . .
