T In The Park is to be hosted at Balado for the last time next month after plans to re-home it were unveiled yesterday.

The move comes after concerns were raised with organisers by The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) about an oil pipeline which runs underneath the grounds  The pipeline runs over the Forties Pipeline, which carries North Sea oil south to Grangemouth and The HSE advised that an accident on-site could cause “a large number of casualties” and could expose people to “a dangerous dose of thermal radiation”DF Concerts originally planned to redesign the festival site away from the pipeline but have now resolved to relocate.

It has been confirmed that T In The Park will be held in the picturesque shadow of Strathallen Castle from summer 2015.

The brainchild of Geoff Ellis, T In The Park was originally held at Strathclyde Park when it began in 1994, before relocating to Balado where it has been held since 1997. The event attracts over 80, 000 festival revellers a year.
