Glasgow Gigs This Week

Fans of Biffy Clyro are in for a triple treat when the band play Glasgow’s Barrowlands this weekend. Friday sees the Kilmarnock-born band play albums, “Blackened Sky” and “Puzzle”, Saturday brings full length sets of “The Vertigo Of Bliss” and “Only Revolutions” while Sunday concludes three consecutive nights with “Infinity Land” and latest album, “Opposites”

Fresh from their stint at Glasgow’s Tartan Clef Awards last Saturday (29th November), Prides will be live at The Arches on Saturday 6th December. The band are out in support of their latest EP, “The Seeds You Sow”, which was released in February and showcases their synth-pop sound.

Mexian duo, Rodrigo Y Gabriela bring their flamenco-laced soundtrack to Glasgow this week; the pair play at 02 Academy on Saturday (6th December). Their set is expected to be heavily shaped by latest LP, “9 Dead Alive”, which was released in April of this year, and features the single, “The Soundmaker”.

Legendary indie-rock band, Manic Street Preachers will be playing an intimate gig in Glasgow this week; they are swapping thousand+ capacity arenas for the small gig haven of The Barrowlands on Monday 8th December. The band are out in support of, “Futurology”, their 12th studio album which includes the title track single and “Walk Me To The Bridge”.

Tuesday (9th December) brings Imelda May to Glasgow for a highly-anticipated gig at 02 ABC. Known and loved  for her rockabilly sound, May has gone from strength to strength since releasing her debut album, “No Turning Back” in 2003. 2014 brought the release of May’s fourth studio album, “Tribal” and has brought the singer back out on the road, to the delight of her fans.

Announced This Week

Canadian rockers, Nickelback have announced plans to tour next year. The European leg of The “No Fixed Address” Tour 2015 is scheduled to kick off in Sheffield next November and is set to include a date at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on Saturday 14th November 2015. The tour comes in support of their 8th studio album of the same name, which was released last month.

The Used have unveiled dates for a forthcoming tour next February, their first UK headline tour in 3 years! Fresh from supporting Taking Back Sunday in The States this year, the band released their 6th studio album, “Imaginary Enemy” in April of this year. The Used will be at Glasgow’s Garage on 10th February 2015.

Hard-rockers, Halestorm are hitting the UK in March 2015. The Pennsylvanian-born band have announced plans to play a string of shows across the UK, taking in venues in Leeds, Nottingham, London, Cardiff and a gig at Glasgow’s Barrowlands on 6th March 2015

Irish legends, U2 announced plans to tour arenas in UK, Europe and America for the first time in over a decade next year. Fresh from releasing THAT album, the band will be bringing “The iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE Tour 2015” to 19 cities (so far) across the world, including 4 nights at Madison Square Garden in New York, 4 nights at London’s 02 Arena and 2 nights at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th November 2015.
