Gigs This Week

The 02 ABC play host to co-headliners, Circa Survive and RX Bandits this Thursday (21st May 2015). Circa Survive hail from Philadelphia and consists of former members of Saosin, This Day Forward and Taken. The band released their fifth LP, “Descensus” in November 2014. RX Bandits formed in 1995 and released seventh studio album, “Gemini, Her Majesty” in July 2014. The band come from Orange County, California.

Baltimore-born quartet, Lower Dens are scheduled to play a headline show in Edinburgh on Thursday (21st May 2015) at Sneaky Pete’s. The female-fronted band released their debut album, “Twin-Hand Movement” in 2010, followed by “Nootropics” in 2012 and “Escape From Evil”, released in March of this year. The gig will act as a warm-up to their support slot to Belle & Sebastian at The SSE Hydro on Friday (22nd May 2015).

Homegrown heroes, Belle & Sebastian are performing at The SSE Hydro this Friday (22nd May 2015), accompanied by The Scottish Festival Orchestra. The indie-pop band formed in 1996 and have since released nine studio albums, the most recent being, “Girls In Peacetime Want To Dance”, which was released in January of this year. Support come from Lower Dens.

Hardcore punk band, Gallows are scheduled to play The Cathouse this Friday (22nd May 2015). The band, formed in 2005, released fourth LP, “Desolation Sounds” in April 2015, their first album in 3 years. Support comes from Baby Godzilla and Departures.

Ohio’s Walk The Moon are playing Glasgow’s legendary Arches this weekend (Saturday 23rd May 2015). Formed in 2008, the band released their second LP, “Talking Is Hard” last December.

Killers frontman, Brandon Flowers is flying solo at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on Monday (25th May 2015). Flowers launched his solo career in 2010 with debut LP, “Flamingo”, which includes hit single, “Crossfire”. Having scored a string of hits over the past decade with his Las Vegas-based band, Flowers took the solo plunge for the second time this year with, “The Desired Effect”, his new LP released this week; it features the tracks, “Can’t Deny My Love”, “I Can Change”, “Still Want You” and “Lonely Town”. Support comes from Joywave.

Just Announced

Bullet For My Valentine have announced plans to tour later this year, including dates at The Music Hall in Aberdeen (10th October 2015) and The Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline (11th October 2015). The Welsh band also announced details of their forthcoming LP, “Venom”, due for release on 14th August 2015.

Tickets go on-sale on Friday 22nd May 2015 @ 9am.

Slaves have announced their biggest headline tour to date, including a gig at Glasgow’s 02 ABC on 19th November 2015. The duo are set to release debut LP, “Are You Satisfied?” on 1st June 2015.
