Gigs This Week

Mickey 9’s are at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on Friday (17th July 2015) as part of the venue’s much-anticipated Summer Nights line-up. The band, from Glasgow, scooped The Scottish Alternative Music Awards “Best Live Act” last year and debut album, “The Party Manifesto” is available now. 

Glasgow-based band, WHITE headline the city’s Stereo on Friday (17th July 2015). The band, who consists of three members of Scottish folk/rock band, Kassidy, draw influence from 80s pop giants, Talking Heads and David Bowie. Their latest single, “Future Pleasures” is available now.

Comedic rap outfit, Goldie Lookin’ Chain are at Audio in Glasgow this Saturday (18th July 2105). The band, who are known for their controversial, but funny lyrics, formed in 2000 in Newport, Wales. The band are known for their signature song, “Guns Don’t Kill People, Rappers Do”.

British boyband, The Vamps are scheduled to play Edinburgh Castle Esplande this Saturday (18th July 2015). The four-piece formed in 2012 and have since supported McFly, The Wanted, Little Mix, JLS and Demi Lovato on tour. Their debut LP, “Meet The Vamps” was released in April 2014.

Summer Nights continues at King Tut’s on Saturday (18th July 2015) with Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5. The band, from Glasgow, are known (and loved) in and around the city for their winning blend of rock ‘n’ roll, hip hop, punk, disco and North Lanarkshire ska!

Sheffield-born band, Best Friends are bringing their blend of garage pop to Glasgow’s Broadcast on Sunday (19th July 2015). Formed in 2011, the band have released two EPs to date; 2011’s imaginatively titled, “EP” and 2012’s “Throwing Up”.

Just Announced

Foo Fighters have remained true to their word, and rescheduled their cancelled gig at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium for 8th September 2015. The band were forced to pull the plug on their tour last month which was set to take in Murrayfield, Wembley Stadium and a headline slot at Glastonbury when frontman, Dave Grohl broke his leg during a gig in Sweden. Support at Murrayfield comes from Royal Blood and Honeyblood.

Tickets go on-sale on Friday 17th July 2015 @ 10am.

English rockers, Don Broco have announced a string of intimate shows across the UK during August, including a date at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut on the 14th. The tour will follow the release of the bands second LP, “Automatic”, due for release on 7th August 2015.

Legendary electro-dance group, The Prodigy have announced a tour for later this year with support from Public Enemy, including two Scottish dates. The band will play Aberdeen’s GE Oil And Gas Arena on 22nd November 2015 and Glasgow’s SSE Hydro the following night (23rd). The Prodigy released their sixth LP, “The Day Is My Enemy” earlier this year.

Australian metal-core band, Parkway Drive have announced plans to tour the UK next year as part of their “Ire Tour”; the tour is in support of the album of the same name which is due for release in September. The band will be at Glasgow’s 02 Academy on 14th February 2016.
